I have bought my missus a Kindle for Christmas, now do i open the box get the Kindle set up and registered on Amazon then put it into its leather case and wrap it so its ready to rock on Christmas morning or do i just leave it sealed up and let her deal with it.
Not sure what to do what would you prefer if you were getting a Kindle for Xmas ?

Leave it boxed, setting it up is half the fun for me. If she'll give it to you to set up anyway still leave it boxed as you'll have to do it any way. There's nothing like pulling off the cellophane on a pristine new screen.

It depends how 'techie' she is. Mrs OneDay is totally clueless with any form of technology and I think she'd prefer to have something that was set up and ready to use.

Definitely has to be left until Christmas morning and be glad it's not a 'some assembly required' children's toy. Some of those take the entire day and a university master's degree to assemble.

Leave it boxed .... if she needs help, you can show her how to set it up and do it the way she wants it. I'm with the others here, I want to be the first person to open my presents.

Although I would be happy to get a kindle, I would feel a bit deflated if it had been opened. For me, it's not even the setting up, it's the excitement of opening the box and being the first person to touch and feel it. Sounds weird I know, but that's the fun part for me.

Unless she's going to have the time to have a sit down and read as soon as she opens it, keep it wrapped, it doesn't take long to set up. If however, you or your fairy godmother is doing the dinner, set it up so she can put her feet up whilst dinner is being cooked!

They are really easy to set up - I managed and usually have a ton of problems understanding techie instructions.
If you have the relevant passwords for connecting to your internet provider and email account to hand on Christmas morning then you should be up and running in no time.

Leave till Christmas day to set up. It will only take 2-3 mins anyway and also means you can wrap the case up separately so she will get 2 presents and not one
