So, I have now joined the "Microcoil Gang" & was wondering..........what is a better vape in everyones opinion?...silica or cotton wool?......I want to know, as I've done a cotton wool one on a Davide, but was thinking maybe silica would be better suited to a Kayfun/Nautilus/Magoo.....what is the general concensus?

Since I started using cotton I've barely touched silica.
You get a longer life with silica and the ability to dry burn.
But changing out the cotton is just as quick.
Flavour wise I'd say the cotton edges it.

I don't use cotton in the Nautilus because so far my cotton builds haven't lasted as long and the Nautilus is a pain to rewick. The problem with cotton is that it burns, then you have to replace it, whereas silica seems to recover at least somewhat.
I use a cotton and mesh on the aga-t - if the cotton goes (or it just needs a clean) I pull out the mesh, wash, dry (actually I have a couple of mesh) add cotton, thread back in.
The Igo-L is even easier - pull the cotton through until the burnt bit is all out, cut it off, and carry on. I can do that before I'd have even got the chimney off the Nautilus.

Depends on the juice you vape mate, cocomel for example is stripped of flavour on mesh, is a bit better with cotton but great with silica! Not too good with ekowool either come to think of it The only way to find out is to try
