Maybe the best way to answer this is to say the mvp1 only had vv mode soif you changed your atty coil resistance then you had to tweak the voltage setting to get the same power to your coil.
When Innokin brought out the mvp2 they saw fit to add vw so you could set your preferred wattage and this would stay constant regardless of coil, within reason of course.

I imagine they kept vv as well on the MVP 2 as old users may just want to use it the same as they did the the original, after all there's nothing as queer as folk !

I would argue that yes you only need one setting - vw

VW is for fools like me. My first mods were vv, not vw, and I kept forgetting to change the voltage when I changed to a lower resistance atty, and only realised when I got a burnt taste.
