I use .45 A-1 for mine and they last for ages. Very tough stuff indeed. I torch the wire before coiling it to get the spring out then do the usual heat and pinch when in the atty. I've had my .9 ohm coil in my Atomic for well over a month now. I'm tempted to try a dual in it again, but it's working so well it'd be a shame to fix what aint broken.

You might want to try some ribbon wire on the Aga-T2 with SS rope & meash, vereybowring. More coil/wick interface, more vapour, more flavour. That combination changed my mind about the device completely. I'm completely fine with the Aga-T2 with the normal kanthal, never had issues with it. I've never really had hot spot issues or anything and I never added washers or anything else either, I just seem to get on with them. I am getting almost as much flavour and vapour with it as I do with the dual microcoiled IGO-L using cotton wick. I have two of the T2's in fact since for the price they are kinda hard to beat really.

OK so I have done some more stuff. My kayfun are now coiled still using the 0.34mm Kanthal A1 but got some of the cotton yarn to use, after a week I think the yarn seems to wick just as well but for me the flavour seems better.
The next batch of goodies is on its way though. I decided to go all the way and get some of the 0.5mm Kanthal A1, I know it will be much stiffer but means the coil lengths will be huge. Also another wicking material is coming to me in the form of hemp yarn which seems intersting as it is supposed to wick really well but be much more durable than cotton.
We shall see how we do with that stuff but I'm still wondering if I will get 30A batteries to have a try with too, although to be honest the flavour and vapour from a 0.6 ohm setup is more than enough really so going lower may be too much even for me (having said that I don't even get much throat hit at 0.6 with my regular 30mg/ml liquid).

I finally got round to getting a pair of Sony VTC4's for experimentation purposes. So I have now made use of the 0.5mm Kanthal A1. I kept it simple and built a dual microcoil setup. Each microcoil has an inside diameter of 1.5mm and was made of 14 wraps. In total this gave the dripper a resistance of 0.4 ohm but with huge surface area. For wick I used a single strand of hemp wick since it takes slightly more heat than cotton before scorching. ![](http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee365/vereybowring/Modding/Coily_zpsc815d2e1.jpg) Works real nice, but as should be expected doesn't half get through the liquid !
