I'm new here. Met Chrissie on the ECF forum and she invited me over
Great to see such a large vaping community in the UK also.

I stopped smoking anologs about 2 years ago, but for the last 6 months have been clucking like mad for a fag. I couldn't go back as I couldn't do the whole giving up thing again, was so difficult. So I got myself a nicorette inhalator hoping that would get rid of my cravings and to a certain degree it worked, but wasn't really giving me the hand to mouth smoking action that I so craved. Then I saw a disposable e-cig in my local chemist and gave it ago, it didn't last the 25 cigerettes it claimed and at £6.96 a throw was proving a little on the expensive side. So I started looking around and I came accross an intellicig again was okish excellant vape but hardly any flavour so I started looking on the net, after a couple of hours I had brain overload so much choice out there. Then by chance I came accross the ECF forums and what a god send it was. So many nice, helpful people. After some reading and recommendations I decided to buy the Riva 510 with a 1100mah battery, which is really cool also brought myself 5, 5ml tabacco flavours if which im honest I don't really like many of them very much. The Riva produces lots of flavour but not alot of vape, which isn't a huge issue but for some reason bothers me slightly ( I know just being picky) So I ordered some more juice today and am hoping for some more luck I oredered the RY4, Coffee and fennel. Decided not to go for any of the fruit ones as I don't really like fruit drinks in life so can't imagine enjoying vaping, although I could be wrong. Also purchased 2 drip tips and some cartamizers.

Well thats a little of my vaping journey so far. open to any suggestions any of you more experienced users may have.

Nats, if you want more vapour, go for juices with a higher percentage of VG (Vegetable Glycerine). You can also add some glycerine to the juices you already have - it will though cut the fic & flavour. You can buy a small bottle of glycerine from the baking section of most supermarkets (on the shelf next to food flavourings), for about 50p or a 100ml bottle from most chemists for about £1.

Welcome to the forums Nats.

I tend to stick with VG/PG mix juices now. I found pure PG ones can make my gums sore. Pure VG ones always seem to behave badly in most of the atomizers I've used because it is too thick and does not wick very well.

I keep a bottle of PG & VG handy. A few drops added to a juice can make the difference.

The combined ones seem to have a good trade off between flavour and vapour production.

I'd agree with Chris & Steve, Nats . . . I also find that VG heavy mixes make me very congested as well . . . a mix of both with slightly more PG doesn't affect me in the slightest and you still get a good amount of vapour.

When I started vaping, all I used were tobacco juices . . . nowdays my tastes have changed and although I didn't think I'd like fruity flavours, I rather do for a change.

Caramel

Blackcurrant
Home brew Dulce de Leche mix.

If you want more Vapour then certainly more VG in your Juice is the way to go...

I'm a Tobacco fan and mix my own now using F'Art Concentrates.

Hey all

Thanks for all the replies. Got myself some VG today and am playing around with it some as I don't really like any of the juice ive brought don't suppose it matters if I screw up in my experimentation.

Definantly more vape with the VG which I like. But gathering from what i've been reading today I'm just not using enough juice. I don't know where I am going wrong. I feel like the blind the leading the blind at the moment.

I'm the new kid on the block trying to compete with the big boys but just don't know how my toy works properly lol And i've watched some many you tube videos I think I've od'ed.

(((Nats))) please don't feel you have to compete with anyone For starters, just use as much juice as you need to keep your cartridges nice & moist. Also try dripping a couple of drops of juice directly onto the atomiser coil.

Any questions you have, just ask, no matter how daft they may sound to you

I just don't know what people are talking about most of the time. I have brain bleed after trying to decifer what a tank with a 5v adaptor on is or such like.

Im sure i'll get there I'm just to impatient.

Nats we have all been where you are .. don't run before you can walk .. sorry if that sounds dismissive .. but to learn and run with it is the way to go . but at your own pace .. if you want to learn to mix read Grizwalds mixology lessons but best of all get some of his pick and mix from VE

Trust me when I say don't try and learn everything in your first week or two ... it just won't happen and you will end up more confused than ever ..

Welcome to the forum .. you have just found your way to an alternative way of life ...

Nats, it was so much easer for me when I started out - only 3 different models to choose from - pen style, mini & super mini No cartomisers/tanks/ - just prefilled cartridges - not even any juice to refill them with

Welcome Nats

I've only been at this myself a few weeks and still find pritty much all of it confusing as hell. Especially when it starts getting technical with amp,ohms and volts. I have found the folks here to be a godsend, they explain it easily and slowly and don't make me feel like an idiot for not getting it straight away.

If the kit you have at the moment is working for you then dont rush to learn/read/buy more. get what you need to keep going and take it slow learning the rest. Cartomisers really seem to do the job for me atm so while they do I'll read and learn but no rush to try anythign else.

If you do order somethign you dont like or doesn't cut it for you then you definatly aren't the only person in that situation and maybe a swap in the classifieds section will turn up a few surprises. I would suggest not to trade much juice just yet specially if you can "live" with the flavour, as your tastebuds will be changeing daily and what works one day doesnt always the next.

Hi all

Think I may have found a few solutions to my problems. I wasn't filling my cart enough. Thank god for wine and ouzo as I found once under the influence of alcohol my topping up of my cart became rather genorous and I found I was really enjoying it. I have some cartamizers on order but because of the bank holiday don't think they'll come till the weekend I'll let you know how it goes.
