Since you asked for suggestions, Chrissie, here's something that I have thought about. I really like the veteran status and sub-forum on the ECF. I'm not sure if it would work as well here, since the membership is much smaller, but maybe it's something to think about, since the All About is growing.

I'll look into it Jerry. I can fairly easily create a veterans "group" & then create a board that only members of that group can post on. However, I think I would have to manually put members into the group as & when they reach veteran status. Unless I can find a code to do it automatically, it would be very time consuming. If we did it the same as on ECF ie - "1 year and 75 posts or 6 months and 1000 posts.", I really can't see how I could add a code for the either or factor. Tbh, I don't think the forum is large enough for it to work Even on the massive ECF, apart from a couple of threads, the veterans sub-forum is fairly quiet.

It's not something I think we need tbh, sorry Jerry . . . it could create a little 'elitist' type clique . . . something I'm very much against in RL as well . . . it's an affectation that I don't see the need for on ECF either if I'm brutally honest.

I'd rather not be classed as a veteran in any way shape or form , but due to my age I could be put in a box classified as experienced :-D
Quick edit : After I posted I realised I was a mere junior .. ohh how I wish ...

Oops Lol, I can reduce your post count if you like so you still remain a junior Or I can give you a title of you choosing that will show below your membership status - maybe something along the lines of "forever young" ?

A real Veteran is some one who has represented his or her country in a operational theatre of war for which there are many examples. It is not because you have a high post count on a forum or have been a member of a forum for a period of time. The term veteran is used to loosely. Forums are about freedom of speach and views if you start segergating the users and introducing a class system it no longer becomes the free format that we know and love. I understand that the Americans love the veteran status have done for many years but and this is only my view i feel its not required and i have no wish to see my name lit up with Veteran.
This is my true and honest thoughts like it or loath it thats my view

What's the difference between junior, full, senior and over the hill super, is it 30 years?
