The anti vaping brigade are using kids as an excuse, but surely, better they buy eshisha type ecigs than fags & getting hooked as we all did. Just wish they wouldn't make them bright colours to make them look funky & 'cool'.

Yep  ... you can see why the kids would be attracted to those  ... much more attractive than the 10 pack of Park Drive I used to buy at that age

My first ones didn't have any packaging... I used to nick them from Dad's packs of Woodbines, thinking he wouldn't notice... big mistake!

ETA: One of the first packs I can remember attracting me was 'Guards' with a picture of a Coldstream Guard... very macho!

I think you absolutely did the right thing.

Smoking or vaping? It's a no brainer isn't it.

End of the day the anti vaping crowd can shove it. You know now your daughter is not smoking and is on zero nic stuff so when the fun wears off she'll give it up. The anti vaping mob can carry on pointlessly shouting at their kids to give up smoking. You proactively helped your daughter give up.

I was looking for something else and came across this thread - I can relate totally... Mini-Gun #1 (15 yrs) got onto fags with his (now ex-, thankfully) girlfriend so I've given him a 650 ego with evod clone and selection of 0mg juice which I made him help me mix and so far so good, it's kept him off fags. We'd rather have him on 0nic and not on stinkies.....

Even with nicotine I would have no problems with it, I would rather a child (whatever age) take up e-cigs rather than smoking

As a vendor, and of the very visible open to the world market type,
I am acutely aware of how thin this ice is.
I do display over 18 only signs aNd on the weekend shoo away youngsters.
I understand that it not only has the potential to kill off vaping but also bring
Personal dangers in the form of a mob of angry mothers to do me physical harm!

However I do worry that, as almost all smokers start in or around their early teens.
Why should they be prevented from escaping tobacco, until they have smoked long enough
To be hooked on nicotine for life.

In a sensible world things would be viewed very differently.

One of the major reasons I decided to try vaping fully (and succeeded) is my youngest whose 15 has been caught smoking. My older pair don't but she has, I kept counting my cigarettes and realising shes taken one so I knew that if I didn't remove temptation from her quickly she could be hooked on smoking for life.

She says she doesn't smoke now, I think she probably does still? I can only pray its in a social way but least I can do my best not to have temptation at hand. If she does continue this habit, and end up addicted to cigarettes i'll be doing my level best to convert her into a vaper. Rather that than she ends up a smoker

Well so far so good, daughter has been out numerous times with her mates and hasn't returned smelling of smoke, and she's bought herself some replacement clearomisers. Between us we have apparently converted our local hairdresser too. When I recently went to pick up daughter from college I was amazed to see at least half a dozen vapers standing around, they outnumbered the smokers!
Pepperty I can understand your worries about your 15 year old, made more difficult by the fact she's not technically old enough to smoke or vape. A real dilema there. I think like GunJack I'd still introduce her to ecigs before she got hooked on ciggies...blooming kids! Is it any wonder we smoked?!
