My MVP Centre post keeps sticking Down, leading to my Device firing without me pressing the button, this also seems to override the 10 second cut off!!! Any offers on how to rectify this issue, when I'm at home I can whip off my Tank and lift the pin up, but if I'm out and about I'll have no idea it's firing,I'm afraid it'll heat up enough to catch fire!!!

What's sticking? Not the button? My tank leaked and filled my mvp with juice and it started vaping itself

No enjay, the actual Centre Post that my Tank screws onto seems to become compacted down. I can release it easily enough, if I can see it firing, the green light stays on, but it doesn't turn off and I am a bit worried about it firing when I CANT deal with it, when I'm driving for instance. Has anyone taken one apart??

I could switch it off, but if I forget, or shove it in my pocket, or go to bed and forget and it develops the fault it's a worry, but if anyone knows how to "Grease' it up, that'd stop it. I've got some spray sillicone lube, but I'm a bit loathe to fire that into the 510 pin and fitting, same for WD40, if anyones done it, let me know!!

The centre post stays permanently connected, it's just the actual switch that switches it on and off, the centre post is fixed. Or am I missing something?
It's held in with the plastic bush and shouldn't move, the live and negative are soldered to the other end inside the unit and come from one of the circuit boards, the circuit is only made live when the main button is pressed. If it's coming on by itself you have an electrical fault.
Maybe yours is also full of leak fluid like mine and as a result has also fried itself like mine did.
Ps are you sure the button isn't sticking on?

Yep enjay, I'm sure the Button isn't sticking. Take your Tank off, look into the 510 connector, you can see a small Brass coloured disc. Take a SMALL flat head screwdriver, or a nail file, put the tip UNDER the disc, wiggle up GENTLY (I use the collar to lever on) spin your MVP a bit, lever the pin up a bit, continue round and the pin SHOULD rise up, only a few mm though, dont lift TOO far!

keepitgoin , You clearly have an internal fault where the wire to /or the centre post connection inside is getting pressed down and shorting onto something. This should not happen and it needs repairing inside. You need to return under warranty or have it repaired by someone who knows what they are doing.

You are talking about the mvp 2 as per the thread title? I've just completey stripped mine to dry it out and see if I could repair it, what you're saying is you're trying to break it lol. That pin is NOT meant to move, it is suppose to stay in permanent contact with the coil part or whatever it's called. I think perhaps Brambles might be onto something. Actually no, that isn't possible either due to the insulation and distance from anything to hit, you're circuit board down the bottom has an issue or the power button does, I suspect it'll be something on that board though same as mine. I can easily take mine apart again and show you any part you like if it helps.

keepitgoin, It is actually very easy to get the end plate with the ego/510 connector off. However you do need small torx bits or drivers to get it off. Don't be tempted t ue allen keys as they may damage the heads. You can pick up really cheap torx drivers in the cheapy shops nowadays. Once you have taken the screws out the end plate will come away exposing the pcb and battery inside along with the wires. Be careful not to stress the wires and you should be able to see what is going on with the other end of the contact pin. I suspect is very close or trapping the red wire from the battery to the PCB. Possibly the two red wires, one to the connector from PCB and the one from battery to PCB are getting trapped and pressed on by the connector causing them to short. From memory I think these wires are quite thin and so may actually have got warm if you have been vaping at max current and the insulation softened not helping if any have been trapped.

You need to also pull the main button off first, the black surround pops out then the button lifts off and then you can slide the top out otherwise there's no room. Took me a little while to eventually figure that part out when I couldn't get the top off mine lol But I don't think what you're suggesting is possible from memory Brambles, I don't think the post can hit anything but could be wrong. I should really pull mine apart again and take pics for future reference.

Yeh, they're by the bed where you were using them to read dirty books lol Serious note though, use a small sharp knife and poke it down between the black plastic power button surround and the casing then pry the plastic up carefully, once that's out the way the actual button and rubber bit below just come out, then you remove those end screws and push what's left of the power button down to slide the top out from the casing. Don't yank it though because the wires are very thin and breaking them will just result in more misery.
