I've been struck by lightning

Hi guys and dolls

Am I glad to be back online, I've been without my internet connection    since Wednesday morning after my home got struck by lightning

We had a terrific storm here which started Tuesday night and on Wednesday morning there was one almight bang as we were struck by lightning. All our electrical equipment such as TV, DVD Player, Digi-box, Stereo unit + my router got struck and we lost the lot, everything gone, all frazzled, fried to bits and pieces. Now waiting for the insurance assessor to get here, and probably offer us a measley amount of money to cover all that equipment. Telly was a 48 inch one and cost us almost 1,000 euros - bet we don't get anything like that amount for the whole lot

So, after being offline for 5 days now I've got a lot of catching up to do on the forum here - better get me reading specs on.

But boy o boy did I miss not being online - the telly I can put up with not having on, don't watch a lot anyway, but the internet, now that's another thing, talk about getting withdrawal effects

toots So glad you're back with us. It does make you think though, how easy it would be to take us back centuries, if someone could knock out the power supplies. Scary thought!

Blimey, sorry to hear about your storm damage toots! Hope you get it all covered by the insurance.
Same old same old here really, some people need help with giving up and buying their first kit, others need help with their mixing, there's the usual problems with Fasttech, then news of arrivals and deliveries. shiny has done a new guide and been abused on another forum for no good reason, the Christmas spirit is pervading the posts now, and the weather's still mild for this time of year.
There you are, no need to read another post - all caught up in 150 words!!

Hi toots I read about it last night funnily enough, as I have friends in Spain and one thing is linked to another etc.
Good to hear you are back online and everything is well, people wise that is.

The worse I have endured in the canaries was a calima ( sp )
