Hello & welcome chris86 I'm the same as you & have always saved up & just treated myself every now & again to something new - I still don't own a Provari, even though I could afford one with all the money I've saved from not smoking

chris86 you'll fit in very well here. It has a unique mix of advice, support and humour. Like you, even after being here for some time, my eyes glaze over when I read about recoiling etc. but others love it. Just take from the forum what you need to work for you, and join in some of the banter.

chris86A great intro, vaping snobbery is rife but were not all like that & that is what is great about this forum, provari or ego it doesn't matter, if it works for you then that's all that matters

A very warm welcome to you Chris. We certainly hope our forum has something for everyone, regardless of their budget or vaping needs. We don't do pretentious, what's that all about over anything. Make yourself at home. Pretentious? NO. Opinionated and generally annoying....I can do that. Welcome chris86I have encountered a fair bit of the "may as well buy the top mod straight off as that's where you'll end up" and t.b.h. I don't buy it. Sure, if vaping is a hobby, then why not? However, doesn't mean everybody has to follow the same path. If I was one of the nay-sayers about the eGo-T (after all, it is my least favourite system and I am vocal about that, but not to the point of telling people to go and buy more expensive/complicated stuff) , then I apologise. I guess for me, I've spent a lot of time and money (in giving hardware away) trying to get people onto standard generic kit (from good brands) and away from the Joyetech/ego-atomiser mafia that rules OK here in these parts. (Basically, most local vapers just go to Totally Wicked and never consider anything else). It's a long road for us *passionate* vapers trying to get fellow vapers off the High Street nonsense or solely following the teachings of the Wicked little devil. A year ago, there were two choices in these parts. E-Lites/Nicolites/Vapourlites or Totally Wicked. Now, we have vaping shops, eGos on sale all over the place, people in the street using decent clearomisers..... it's really happening.

Now, we have vaping shops, eGos on sale all over the place, people in the street using decent clearomisers..... it's really happening. Great reply mate....and thanks for the welcome. To be honest, I'm in two minds about eGo-T's. On the one hand, I wish that I had spent my money on something a bit better when I started, because I've realised since then that there are much better things on the market - and at affordable prices too! On the other hand, I'll always be grateful to the eGo-T for leading me down the path that led to no more cigs. I don't really have a problem with people being negative about the eGo-T and there's no need to apologise. Let's face it, its only good quality is getting people into vaping, and other devices can do that better! I worked that bit out for myself fairly soon after I started vaping, but I wasn't sure about what to upgrade to. So I asked around on another forum, and was told to go for things like Provari, Kayfun, Nemesis, Chi You, DNA20 mods and so on. I'm sure that these are all great bits of kit for those who have already got into vaping in a serious way, but I don't think that they're the next natural step up from eGO-T's. Personally, I'd suggest a Spinner or a Twist with a decent clearo to someone who is in the position that I was in a few months ago, or maybe a Vamo or SVD if they were prepared to spend a little bit more. Vaping has just started to become more of a hobby for me recently, but I think that there's a natural progression in any hobby and that it does more harm than good to suggest that new vapers aren't part of the 'in crowd' if they don't have the latest high end devices. Unfortunately, that is the attitude I've come across from some people, which is why I decided to join AAEC, where there seems to be a more open-minded and less elitist attitude than in some other places.

chris86In the 2 months since stopping, and just over a month of being a member here at AAEC, my outlook going forward regarding vaping is very positive. Could I have vaped and stayed vaping without such fantastic support and the wealth of knowledge found here? maybe I started vaping 4 years ago and failed miserably back then on the poor equipment and lack of knowledge etc that was around then. This time around I started on Stoptober and was determined to make a go of it. The hardware available now (not just the super mods) but the standard kits, cartomizers et al and the knowledge and advice gave me a good feeling that this time I will do it. I did go crazy on spending on this and that after the first month of being smoke free. Stupidity, probably, but I know now that I have spent the money, it is another reason/incentive that will stop me going back to smoking. Do I own a provari, yes and it is my go to PV, I also own a MVP2, which was actually my first purchase in October and still use it today. That was my choice though and I don't/wont push it on to any newcomers unless they ask about it "the provari".

Hi chris86 and a very warm I have been a member here for about 6 weeks and have learnt so much from the fantastic advice and information from our fellow forumites. I don't think I would be as optimistic about staying off the stinkies without them. Great place, great people and great advice!

Hi and welcome aboard chris86. They are a very chilled out helpful bunch here. A identical thread that descends into chaos and "handbags at dawn" elsewhere, will end up a pleasant and supportive thread here. I think they're just a nice bunch, but someone may be slipping something in their tea. Good health. Phil.

Hi Chris and Welcome to the worse forum ever. It is the worse because this forum stops you having a life. They brainwash you to do the unimaginable like mixing and coiling and the rest of the time clicking on the shopping links to buy stuff and if that's not enough posting. Run

welcome chris hubby and I have been vaping for over a year now........we both love it, yet were 20/30 a day rollies for 30 years! my hubby still uses ego's [1300mah] with iclear 16's,,, and me itaste vv/vw 3,0 with protank 2 mini or the iclears, so it just goes to show, you don't need all the fancy batteries atties etc etc to enjoy your new found freedom. If you can afford them or want them I'm sure they're FAB! but you don't need them. The wonderful people on aaec make you at home and welcome no matter what equipment you got. nice to have you on board
