How many kids have gone to bed tonight as good as gold, for once, with the threat of 'Santa won't come otherwise'. Parents can be so cruel and manipulative.  I remember it well.

When desperate I used to go outside and jingle some bells, and panic them into hitting the sack, saying that he'd fly right past if he saw them up.
