There is always something rather special about a hand-made present, and this one looks great!

Thank everyone, I agree, a hand made present is very special, and I love wood. I was quite sad when the bough came down off that apple tree, so it was extra special to have a small piece of it to keep I will take some more photos, in the daylight, when it is all filled up

My lovely friend made this for me from a lovely piece of apple which came from a tree in our orchard. I am beyond thrilled, it is so beautiful. Sorry the pictures aren't brilliant, but I had to share I am slightly concerned that this means I need more shinies ''Came from a tree from our orchard'' ...alreet' for some That looks quality, though.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Sal so nice that you can keep the farm in the family though and what a stunning mod stand. I'm thinking 'cottage industry' here

Sorry to hear about your Dad Sal so nice that you can keep the farm in the family though and what a stunning mod stand. I'm thinking 'cottage industry' here Thank you Karma for your kind words, we are so lucky to have the farm and it is even more special to us now that Dad is no longer with us, it's part of him, and he is part of it. Farming isn't easy these days, my brother works very hard to keep it all going and the rest of us chip in too as much as possible. The mod stand came from an apple tree that was planted by my Grandad, who died before I was born, so it really is such a special present I have told Lisa, my friend who made it, that it has had lots of praise and she is delighted!

What a lovely, thoughtful gift, Sal. All the more special because of the memories it holds. Beautiful too.
