Can someone help me I am getting dry hits on my gt? This is my first coil on the gt it's coming out at 2.0ohms with 3 wraps of 0.2 canthal & 3 strands of 2.0mm kaywool I am very disappointed compared to the Kayfun 3 which works great. Have I got too much wick?

Can only imagine the coil is too tight around the wick or the wick is too tight for the wick holes and juice isn't wicking through well.

if kaywool is in fact eko wool then that's where your problem lies, 2mm is infact the internal diameter of eko wool - it's a hollow weave. Try with 3 strands of 1mm eko wool and see if that helps. Or try with 3 strands of 2mm silica

Or try with 3 strands of 2mm silica I think you may be right blakey it is very tight, I only used it as it's the only 2mm I have, will try the 1.5mm silica I have. Yes I did mean ekowool sorry.

I use the mesh mostly in mine rolled just enough to fit into the grooves then 7-9 wraps of .30 kanthal ,when i test fire for hot legs ect untill everythink is sweet i then give it some more heat but this time using tweezers squeeze that coil together so in the end looks like a micro coil. Then i lay a 2mm peice of ekowool on top apply a few drops on the eko and screw the lid on.
When i have custards i use 3 x 2mm silica position them so 1 peice is facing down into the curve and the other 2 upwards or ive even tried 5mm silica which fits also perfect but need to be carful not to have your coil too tight or its dry hit time again.

I first set mine up with 3x 2mm silica as per the instructions. Found this gave me dry hits so tried again with a cotton/microcoil set-up. Big improvement! No dry hits, no gurgling no leaking!

Got it sorted thanks blakey used 3 strands of 1.5 mm silica, running like a dream. I think i had to much wick being strangled by the coil chamber when you screw the top down tight. Not clouds of vapour like the Kayfun but still a good vape.

denis9t9 ... try it with a microcoil and cotton ... 10 times better performance than the silica set up that I had previously used.
