Well, in a fit of pique with the kayfun weeing my valuable juice all the time, I lost my temper and smacked it against the table. Back to the iclears, as the kayfun tank is now at 20 degrees from the main body. Very disappointed in it...

This doesn't auger well, I'm just geeing myself up to order a FT clone Kayfun 3.1 and you lot come on dissing it!! Now I'm not so sure - I have downloaded the official users manual from C9V just to acquaint myself with it, and it seems pretty straightforward . . .

The original Kayfuns are very well made & there "shouldn't" be any problems with them, providing they are wicked & coiled properly & filled correctly........With regards to the clones, obviously, you get what you pay for......I have the 3.1 & Russian clones & at present, can't use either of them, because of manufacturing faults, but it's getting sorted by the vendors.

I don't know about the clones, but my original 3.1 Kayfuns have proved utterly reliable to date. Apart from the Spheroid (which seems incapable of leaking under any circumstances) it is probably the most reliable atty I have. I also love the Ithaka, but that atty has a steeper learning curve in my view.
If you're just starting out with the Kayfun then I recommend a really simple figure-of-eight style wick and a medium resistance coil (say 1.8 to 2.5 ohms) to get you started.
I'm a big fan of both the Spheroid and the Ithaka, but I still think the Kayfun gives a wonderfully 'balanced' vape. It's generally my take-to-work device cos it just keeps working really well!

I have the Kayfun 3.1 clone and the Russian 91% clone and both are terrific atties ... I know that some folk have had issues with the build quality of theirs but both of mine have exceeded my expectations ... as others have already said, most problems with the Kayfuns (as with any device for that matter) are down to user error ... you have sensibly prepared the ground work by downloading the Kayfun user guide, follow that and you can't go wrong.

A giant plus 1 for the Ithaka oldsmokey .... a bit time consuming, but straight forward and simple, to set up but the vape in terms of flavour slightly edges the Kayfun imho and the air flow and juice feed controls are both terrific design features.

Yes Ithaka just pips the Kayfun for my taste buds - and its inherent adjustability means you can tailor the vape more than you can with the Kayfun. I prefer the throat hit from a twin coiled Ithaka if I'm honest. Nevertheless the Kayfun is a wonderful balanced, relaxing vape, and with some of the dessert flavours I think it is still the best of the bunch. The nic delivery is also spot on ETA:Keith's excellent video tutorial at C9V is definitely a good place to start!

I found that the twin coil set up killed my throat after a day or so and I now use a single 1.8 ohm coil/twin wicks set up which gives all the flavour but in a much smoother, gentle fashion. I followed Scott's (igetya69) video to the letter and I have never had a minutes trouble with the Ithaka ... a great well engineered piece of kit.

Out of interest, have all you committed Kayfun fans cut the nic of your juice when using the KF? I am sure that I have read (apart from in the manual!) that otherwise the nic can end up being too strong?

chykensa i have read that about the Spheroid but don't think i have seen anything about the Kayfun, but i do tend to find the better quality the atty the less nic i need, i have dropped down from 24mg too 16mg which is great as i use less nic base in my mixes

My thinking too Super-Shiny, if I can save a few more pence I would be happy! Just need to work out a way of smuggling in a KF after the Christmas expenditure!
