I set one off. Oops. Turns out the plan to blow the vapour down the plug hole (which is always at negative pressure) has been a good one, and one I should stick to!

When I have vaped in a plane loo I've just blown the vapor down my shirt to help dissipate it. That along with holding it in your lungs reduced the vapor to almost nil. Make sure any vapor trapped in your clothing is expelled or you might raise alarm as you return to your seat "smoldering" Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

I think I will fill up a tank with 24mg so I need less of it for the flight. I did a shorthaul flight to Krakow last month and did the blowing vapour down my top, but I didn't really have that long to worry about... 8 hours is going to be far more challenging

Hahahaha, brilliant. Was anything said? No, the (German) stewardess marched up, past me, to the front, turned off the alarm, looked around the toilet and shrugged then left it at that.

Grumpy Old Git alert....
I'm sorry, but I don't find this at all amusing. Flying is stressful enough for many people without making it worse for them by setting off alarms. Any hint of 'smoke' these days could ground a flight for security reasons, it's just not worth the risk.

Trust me, OneDay, I was mortified. Only laughing it off out of relief, not because I find the situation objectively funny (nor one that I would ever want to repeat).
