What with all the threats of us not being able to buy what we need in the long term future, I have decided that this year I am going to get myself sorted with bomb proof vape gear that will last for years and not months. I know this subject must have come up before but I can't find the right right thread titles to find any.
I am going to invest in a clone Kayfun to see if I can get the hang of it. There is a current thread to help me with that, but I need ideas for elegant and stylish looking mechanical mods either with or without the ability to put a kick in. Generally I find a lot of these types of mods to be quite masculine and ugly for me. I have sourced one I really love, but at £180+ I will have to pass on that for a while! Any ideas?

If you want something to last I personally would buy the real thing.

I am buying the clone first to see if I get on with it first before forking out a lot of money on the real thing, but I agree with you that the real thing is best for longer life. It's an attractive looking mech mod I am having trouble finding.

I would buy a clone until I figured out whether rebuilding was for me before getting anything costly dolly I have just stocked up on a lifetime supply of iClear16s coz pretty certain rebuilding ISN'T for me How about a pipe as a mechanical? The smok one is a really simple little thing, but perhaps not classically pretty. The new Kamry k1000 looks kinda smart though I worry about this issue every now and again, and then I decide that there will be plenty of warning, and so I will save worrying until I have the facts

I've never coiled anything before and Mr Dolly is still a novice but I fancy giving it a go. FT prices make it easy to trial it before the big purchase. You made me giggle re the pipe! If I pulled one out and started puffing on it my family would laugh till they wet themselves! Don't think they would be my thing! I'm not overly worrying about the EU issues, but I just want to get myself organised for once and get the things I will need whilst I have some spare cash to afford it. I would imagine if our worst fears are recognised the price of vaping hardware will go through the roof.

Blownupdolly for looks and the kayfun will look great on it and can only presume will last for quite some time would be a Nemesis.......for something i think is built to last a long time but not so elegant would be the Nzonic. Have a look here: www.thevapetank.co.uk/Mechanical/cat2202954_2011406.aspx and if you see one you like either buy from there or look on FT for one For genuine ones look elsewhere. Don't shoot me for this you's out there but if the Kayfun clone does not work well don't judge a genuine to be the same.

Get a Nemesis. In 18350 + Kick it's pretty tiny for out and about. Whack the extra tube on it at home and use in 18650 mode. You can get custom wraps for it from here in pretty colours or buy some Vinyl automotive sheets and make a wrap yourself to save some squids. www.jwraps.com/category_s/2165.htmYou can buy a mixed mode one with SS and Brass which looks pretty smart and feminine too without any wraps.

Yeah the Titanide is a real piece of art. More jewellery than mod..
If you have you heart set on that, I would just buy it instead of faffing around.

Not sure why people are so keen on kicks. You build your coil so it works right without the kick, when performance drops off significantly, change batteries. Nemesis is brilliant (i have the FT clone). No messing with adjusting pins to stop battery rattle, nice easy to use locking ring that don't unscrew the firing button if you are not careful. A kayfun is a little fiddly and considering you have to remove the juice from the tank to rebuild it a slight pain. Perhaps a Squape or a clone of it? I'd say a nice dripper is way more bomb proof - nothing to go wrong. Yes, over fill it and it'll leak, so just put less in it, dead easy. Change flavours with very little hassle. With a micro coil and cotton, you can change the wick in minutes leaving the coil in place I've had this coil in mine for over a month and can see it lasting another 1 or 2. Another advantage is that you can really see whats going on to build an understanding of the way the flavour changes with gunked up coil, burned wick, drying out wick. Just pop the top off and have a look Ohh and they are much smaller than a tank type.
