iTaste SDV's arrived..but..

Hey guys. This may seem a little paraniod, but wonder if any of you can shed some light.
SVD arrived yesterday from FastTech. It's working fine&am very impressed.

Just a little niggle on the cosmetic side!
On the unit itself, there's no 'ITaste SVD' scribed into the stainless steel above the fire button, &I've noticed on pretty much every other unit on YouTube vids, etc this I'd clearly visible.

Could be nothing more than an oversight at the factory finishing stage,
but having read so much about 'clones' &the possibility that some or all of these mods sold by FT might not be the real McCoy,
I thought I'd put this concern to you all in the hope someone might have similar experience.

I think fast tech is a mix bag of goodies....some things genuine some fake.....but if it works your happy with it and it was a lot cheaper then be happy

I *think* Fasttech have had to remove a lot of the branding on the Innokin products they sell, so not to upset other Vendors selling the same products at higher prices, at Innokin's request.

If you check out their adverts, there's little or no branding visible now.

A noticeable difference&improvement on the Vamo.

That add has changed since I ordered mine on 21 Dec.
I ordered from the page which said
"Authentic innokin iTaste SVD"
Anyway, as Phil posted, if it's working&hopefully continues to do so, all's good.

I only saw what you said above after I'd done my post coz I was busy getting the link to the vtr whilst you were posting your remark.

Wonder if my vtr will come without any branding

Haven't a clue when mine will arrive, I've got 5 items on order, 3 say 'ready to ship', 1 says scheduled ship date 6th Jan and 1 says scheduled ship date 10th Jan, so I'm presuming they won't ship anything out till after the 10th Jan

This is my first order from fasttech

Actually stewarty I hope they don't split the order up. As I've not ordered from China before I don't know if customs in Spain will put any charges on the order, and if there are 2 or 3 split orders I wouldn't want several customs charges placed on each package

I bought the same thing but elsewhere and it has the itaste svd logo above the button, cost about £62 in a kit with batteries, charger, 10ml liquid and aspire tank. I think the stock innokin itaste svd was somewhere just over £40-£45 for the unit on it's own. The branding is on the battery tube and it has itaste on the battery cover too


Anyway great piece of kit (says the newbie) and I'm loving it.

Never had a fastech order that has been above the customs threshold yet regardless of the size. ..... Very creative with the customs declarations are our Chinese friends

Who knows what backroom horse-trading is going on in China with Innokin's products? It seems that Innokin has set a minimum retail price for their equipment. FT and other vendors are finding creative ways to skirt around these. I would be perfectly confident of your SVD's authenticity, it's a great mod.
Here's another example, Vaporbreak actually claimed that this is a clone! I don't believe that for a minute. May be the first time a vendor has claimed a genuine product is a clone to avoid pissing off a manufacturer!

I should think Innokin want it all ways . . . the buying power of FT must be immense so they don't want to lose them, at the same time they want to retain their independent outlets. As consumers we win, though galling for a small Vendor who just can't compete on price.
