Get a pair of pliers on the base part. Maybe with something in between the pliers and the base and then try and unscrew. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

Rubber gloves as Fiddles says . . . or an elastic band wrapped around the base should help debi. Welcome to you.

Due to a lot of the bases on Clearomizers they can be of a polished finish (bugger i know) and does cause problems when trying to un-screw them, get some marigolds/elastic band or maybe for future use get a set of these: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/32596/vape-gripsThey work great for everything. EDIT: Hello and debi

I'd have been clueless in all honesty Debi and probably would have attacked it with a hammer/pair of pliers . . . as I generally do with anything that doesn't work. At least you thought to ask.

The best, and cheapest, solution is this non-slip matting stuff. You can get it anywhere, including pound shops, ebay, etc. A couple of strips of this will solve all your un-screwing needs! Every vaper should have some
