Installing software.

I've just bought an opcom diagnostic tool for my car & I wanted to install the cd software onto my notepad, so that I can plug the tool into it inside the car after testing.....the problem is, my notebook doesn't have a cd drive.....is there another way I can install it on there?......I have a pc in the house.

Create an iso image on your pc then instal daemon tools and create a virtual drive on your notebook

Can you copy the cd's contents onto a USB flasdrive and install from there? If not, an external cd drive plugged into your notebook's USB port... if you don't have one, maybe a local pc repair shop would help?

Crossed posts with Lairey. I've used the flash drive method successfully, I also recently bought an external CD drive on ebay for under a tenner new

Also Op Com software is downloadable but you probably need a registration code or something www.op-com.hu/Downloads_EN.aspx

I've used the flash drive method in the past, but sometimes it'll omit small files.

If your PC + Notebook are connected to the same router, you could share your CD rom on your PC and then just access the shared CD rom drive from your Notebook and install the software.

My pc is connected to the router by ethernet cable & the notebook is wireless

Funny enough testdruif, I've just been reading a similar thing that I googled......I have xp on both the pc & notebook..........My house mate has a pc that is connected to the router via ethernet, as is my pc, although on a separate ethernet cable to the same router.......my notebook is wireless & is connected via her pc......if I share my pc data drive with my notebook, will her pc be able to access it too, as I don't want this.

agree with ballsy also hope you have the correct connector OBD or OBD II for you car

create an additional user account on the PC and share the CD rom only setting permissions for that account, you can then use that account to connect to the CD rom.

Before copying the files over go into windows explorer and click tools then view. Make sure the options are set to show hidden files and to show system files. It should then copy over every file
