vaping vs. smellies

OK.... I've now been using a halfway decent kit for all of a week, following last years mistake of only using the cig alike to try to get me of the smellies..... so now the verdict!

And as many of you will have already found and said - Vaping is better than smellies because :

I don't stink straight after I've had a vape

My clothes and hair don't smell of ashtray

I can vape indoors without turning the wallpaper dingy brown (I think) and the house smelling like a stale ashtray

There are no more ashtrays!!!! 

I can have a crafty 'vape' in the loo's at work if it's hissing down, whereas I could never have got away with a crafty fag  No more huddling under tree's or door overhangs!

I WILL be saving money eventually (after all the spending on kit and e'liquid making stuff)

I will be able to have a 'witchy time' with good reason now  and not just because my husband thinks I'm trying to poison him!

I actually do love the taste of a good few of the liquids I've tried, so can vary my vape to my taste of the day, minute or mood without a great deal of hassle.

I can still get a nicotine hit without the smellies

I can still have a good old cough without the smellies......  

AND I'm hopefully cutting down on the amount of crap I inhale by staying away from the smellies.............   HOWEVER....

I still do find that I truly miss having the sheer decadent glow I get from the first few drags of a ciggie, so have decided to have one a day at a time and place of my choosing, dependent on mood or what I've got to do otherwise, and am really finding that I truly do enjoy the 'quality' time of having just that one cig a day to either stand out in my garden in the morning sun and appreciate the quiet satisfaction that I get, or time to take in the beauty and peace and quiet of the evening sky.

OK....   so only nearly there....  not quite.... but feeling much better about my ability to stick to it this time around!

Good on you. Even that one a day is better than 10 a day or 20 a day

Take it at your own pace and whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Count the stinkies you haven't had as opposed to the ones you have had :-)

I was doing both for around 3/4 months before I finally quit the stinkies , you will get there in your own good time , think you will find it harder to quit if you put to much pressure on yourself to do so.

There could welcome a point where that one fag will repulse you! Although, I do know a couple of vaping friends who still like the odd one here and there. Personally, the thought of ever smoking one again makes me gag!

Well done slow and steady is the way took me a couple of months before I finally stopped the stinkies, now as dolly says I gag at the thought of having one, you'll do it in your own sweet time

Well done Janine sometimes the hardest one to stop is the last one at night or the first one in the morning.

8 days is still very early in your vaping journey.

I accepted early on that I was an 'all or nothing kind' and that although I hadn't said to myself - no more fags, I wanted to throw myself into vaping 100% Now, after almost 3 months I do feel that an emergency fag wouldn't chuck me right back to square 1, I have accepted that the few minuses to vaping (for me) which was that joyous head spinning woozy nicotine hit is balanced evenly with the vaping in bed/fag free smell so I accept I'm not going to bother with cigarette temptation because its left me. I get that i'm still addicted to nicotine but I dont feel as addicted as I was with smoking....?

Weirdly enough, once I got my starter kit and decent e-liquid I haven't had a urge to rip a burning ciggie from my friends and/or my mums mouth?!? Today mum asked me to hold her lit ciggie whilst she rooted about her handbag...even then - I didn't think about a crafty pull on it. YAY!

Same here! The smell is foul and I can smell a smoker from 10 foot ! Love smelling of Chanel now ! Plus it lasts longer as not spraying after every cig ! And I can roll a cig for OH but wouldn't dream of lighting it ! Urgg!

About 4-5 weeks into my vaping I got myself 10 smellies as I wa going fishing with a smoking friend, just as a sociable thing. Smoked 1 and nearly threw up, gave him the other 9.

Never will another smelly pass my lips!!!

Yes well done, I did about 18 months on mini ciggys (fag lookalikes) but always ended up rolling a stinky at the weekend when I'd had a few beers, I even remember one night having a rolly in one hand and a vape in the other toking on them both several times before I decided that I couldn't pick between the two.
It wasn't til I got my first Ce4 and some proper juice that the stinkies were binned for good now I hate them with a passion and cannot think of anything worse than lighting up.
Tonight its my new Innokin VV and a microcoiled Evod and it really doesn't' get much better than that, stick at it and don't beat yourself up if you slip now and again.
