Burnt taste after a few puffs. On a magneto with 18650 battery. E-liquid is 50 Pg/40vg and 10 water
Do I need thinner e-liquid? Any ideas?

Jane, what sort of coil are you using. I use Evod heads in davides and mini davides all the time although I do microcoil the heads. It sounds like the coils and wick are getting gunked up. Have you tried opening up the coil heard to see if he coil and or wick is black. Is your wick too loose in the coil ?
I can make you a few Evod microcoils for you if your not into coiling and see if that helps ?

If you aren't using a kick Jane perhaps the power is too high with a fresh battery at 4.1 or 4.2 volts?

I thought of that @freefromsmoking because I used to have that problem with cartos years ago. It takes a little while for them to bed in....but that's just not happening with the protank heads...are the ohms too low at 1.8? any ideas?

Jane Jane those coils should be ok, with a fully charged battery you should get 9.8 watts on a mod with no kick. What do you normally vape at wattage wise on your elec mods ? Do you have any 2.2 ohm Evod coils you could try or if not put a fresh 1.8 ohm coil and try on a vw mod starting at 7 watts and see if you get the burnt taste, then slowly crank the vw up and see if you get a burnt taste at a certain wattage. Im actually popping to ABZ tomorrow so if you want some mcoils making I can pop over and make you a few different sizes and values if you wish ? Prob arrange lunchtime.

Thanks for the kind offer Greg but those that know me will appreciate that tomorrow is Sabbath and there's some things I just don't do on Sabbath plus I shall probably be at church about lunchtime... Sometimes I do the things I really shouldn't do on Sabbath but I try and keep Sabbath as it should be kept - for my soul. I'll try and see if I can get my vamo to work and try the other suggestion Thanks Greg

Okay plan b....changed the coil....(as the vamo didn't like anything at 7watts) and like filled the clearo right up to max....tasting fine. Obviously letting the juice level get too low but what technically is too low on a david glassomiser? Think I have been doing this the past few days whilst I have been away and obviously this is the prob..... Now to have another go at rebuilding LOL....waste not want not. Must have killed a good two packets of heads this week with all this nonsense whilst I've been away LOL (at least I didn't kill the magneto as well ) icon_shoppingm

Jane I run my davides pretty low without any issues, I run them until the liquid level is just about to disappear from the glass tube.

That's interesting Greg and you use micro coils right? I don't know what I did rewicking wise but it'll have to be left till more 'with it'.....I could rewick these things at one time like they were going out of fashion - no bother......but since I shorted my side winder with a bad rewick the other week I've been put off... Remember I'm just back from backpacking for four days (and yanking an espresso machine machine round with me for two of those days LOL) These things can wait till Monday. For now I just think I'll use my spare vamo (maybe get another vamo on payday....LOL) Jane

I find that my Davide can leak and gurgle if the liquid level is below one third (same with protanks). It's best to keep them topped up IMO.

Once my wick is installed I tend to fluff each side up a bit to fill the channels, i do the same with silica or cotton wool. I'm guessing if the wick is too "thin" then liquid can pass the wicks too easily Not sure if I'm right but it works for me

You just need a few very cheap tools and it's child's play
