Moving home

Just to let you all know my luvverly techy man has been and gone. All installed and ready to go within half an hour (which included me nattering about his personal life!!!).

He completely agreed with the choice of scanner (thanks to all you peeps).

Now, my little brain just has to remember all he told me!! MM

Thanks Scyll - trouble is I'm not exactly sure when I will actually move. The decorators are in and carpets will be fitted when that's finished. Then I can get moving.
Don't want to be without puter whilst I'm here.

Just rung a removal man to come and view my chaos - see what he has to say - if I can stop him running away!! He will call on Saturday

MM, call your ISP and tell them that you will be moving and where you will be moving to and that you will contact them again, when the move takes place. That way they will be aware of it.

Or depending on who you are with, and if the place you are movin to has a phone line already installed, you can contact them and get it all transfered over on the day you move.... in theory.

We had our line and internet connected the day we moved in here cos we gave them the dates to switch it on about 2 weeks before we moved.

Hi Jem, I am with Virgin. My telephone account is with The Post Office - (I was all patriotic and wanted to keep the PO alive!!!) But now I would like a package with Virgin which includes some free telephone calls or summat like that!!

So, if you or anyone when explain what I need to do (in words of one syllable) I would be grateful.

i had a quick look on www.comparethemarket.com and virgin showed up as the most epxensive for your area.

an 18month contract with virgin phone/broadband. the cheapest package included ....

a 10mb line
unlimited weekend calls to any uk landline and virgin mobile
6 months at £6.75 + £13.90(line rental) and then 12 months at £13.50 + £13.90(line rental)

Are you intrested in tv as well?
any other supplier an option ?

I'll have to have a look at my stuff from Virgin and get back to you. I keep getting interrupted with things to do with moving.
Think I've found some people to do that actual move. A friend is using them next weekend so I will see what her report is.
I keep running out of hours in the day and that does not including popping in here!!! MM
