Asked to vape outside,because of Goodmorning scaremongering.

O'Neils,which I believe has had a no vaping policy for a while, has just told me I cannot vape in there anymore. They turned a blind eye to me and a few others for months. I didn't complain but asked to have a chat with the manager, who I know anyway. He explained he had recieved a reminder from head office after they recieved a complaint from a fellow customer stating "breakfast tv said it wasn't safe". I found out who sent the email, a jealous smoker. Gggrrrrrr.

Yep, best thing to do is to take your custom elsewhere.

When they first brought in the half smoking ban over here, I say half because it was up to the establishment whether they banned smoking or not on their premises, anyway there I was in a party of about 15 people who were going to eat in this particular restaurant (no seating available outside) along with half a dozen other smokers (at the time) and this restuarant did not allow smoking, so after about 10 minutes of organising ourselves into the best seating arrangement and then finding out that we were not allowed to smoke, we all got up and left the premises. Found somewhere else to eat that did allow smoking.

Also one particular local bar suddenly put up notices that smoking was prohibited so that bar was boycotted. He lost so much trade that he took the notice down and allowed smoking again. Of course all his regulars suddenly took root again and he was back in business.

Well, we can all do the same with vaping, unless of course vaping becomes unlawful (just like analogues) in public places. But until such time we can all just go to premises which do allow vaping and give our business to those places. So far here I haven't been stopped anywhere - yet.

A bit off topic but

The last time I was in Portugal the smoking ban had been brought in to most restaurants.  One establishment had a nice but small outside eating area.  The owner, who was a smoker ,banned all non smokers from sitting there
