Thought it was an asthma attack but Seems I had a reaction to something in my mix. Two lovely blondes turned up in the ambulance gave me oxygen and Nebulised me been hooked up to ecg machine, blood sugar taken and generally pampered, refused to go to hospital unless it happens again. Theyve told me to lay off my mixes and go back to what I had before Just as id discovered the joy of mixing my own and worst of all one of the paramedics was a smoker looking to quit with ecigs, and says shes been put off still in alot of pain feels like ive bruised my lungs and been punched in the throat but ill be reet

Good to hear you are still at home. Discovering what caused it will be tricky, and unfortunately you will not discover it until it happens again. I would say revert back to exactly the same juice as you were using in the beginning if you still have some. Then gradually , very gradually start trying different ones as it could take a couple of days to react. It could be a certain flavouring, it could be the pg content, it could be a certain make of juice. It could have also been something to do with those you have been mixing together, perhaps some reaction.
I originally came on here to discuss the red Astaire, before an ambulance was mentioned. I have stopped using my RA. I started to get very breathless, no cough, not chesty just breathless. I stopped using the RA and I got better again ( within 24 hours ) I am going to try it mixed at different ratios.
Editing to add, I know you recently got a vtr. Could the wattage/ voltage that you have suddenly increased have caused anything? I have no clue - but others on here may know if using it too high somewhere could cause problems.

If you've only used the one home brew, I'd think it was something in the flavourings of that . . . the other basic ingredients you've been using in ready made eliquid. It'll be a process of elmination and if a paramedic that smokes, thinks that habit is better for their health, then I despair.

Was thinking that suddenly blowing clouds from the vtr could have brought it on. Pg i dont think is the problem, maybe amount of vg? It is stronger in vg than ive previously had. Could just be RA or tjuice flavourings If you've only used the one home brew, I'd think it was something in the flavourings of that . . . the other basic ingredients you've been using in ready made eliquid. Going to try my other mixes tommorow, Im hoping it just the RA but will see as you say process of elimination. and that paramedic is still going to quit, she just going to go by other methods instead of ecigs

I worked for a short time at my local Ambulance Station and converted the majority of smokers to ecigs whilst I was there, shame your paramedic isn't closer otherwise I'd suggest she give the guys there a ring.

Could be worth contacting Nige at Tjuice just to see if he's heard of anyone with a similar experience Steve (VapeStorm), he might be able to advise you? Hope you don't mind, but I'll also move your thread onto the General Board, as not everyone looks in the Lounge and they may also have some thoughts to offer. Don't give up on the mixing though, there's bound to be a solution to be had.

Steve (VapeStorm) the first question is - the main shop bought eliquids that you have been using - what pg/vg ratio were they? Did you mix concentrates to give the same pg/vg ratio? If so it looks unlikely that pg or vg is to blame, (although it could be the make) If you made one of them higher then that could be the problem. Have you used red Astaire shop made? Just wondered if you had been ok with that?

Steve (VapeStorm) the first question is - the main shop bought eliquids that you have been using - what pg/vg ratio were they? Mainly joosejuice 50/50 60/40 70/30 vg/pg The odd dekang liquid. God knows what ratio that is Did you mix concentrates to give the same pg/vg ratio? All my mixes were 63/37 vg/pg so nothing ojt of the ordinary thereIf so it looks unlikely that pg or vg is to blame, (although it could be the make) Could be the brand as perps said going to email tjuice and ask Iif anything like this has happened beforeIf you made one of them higher then that could be the problem. Have you used red Astaire shop made? Just wondered if you had been ok with that? Nope

From the range of pg/vg ratio's you have used in ready made stuff, and the fact that your d.i.y stuff snuggles nicely amongst them it wouldn't appear that pg or vg are to blame.
See how you get on with your waffle, as I presume you made this the same way as the RA?

Exactly the same. 15% flavour 12mg 63/37 vg/pg only variable Is the brand, If i react its obviously something in the nic base or in the vg 999 on speed dial simples

It could well be an allergy to one of the flavourings. I had a reaction once to just one particular juice, not as bad as yours though My face swelled a bit and got very hot red and itchy. I tried again a few days later, same thing. I binned that juice and never bought any more from that range as it kind of put me off. I've never had it happen again
