I'm fairly new to. Vaping
I've managed to cut my nicotine down to 6mg
but im im a quite a heavy caper 10ml a day
and I'm ready to try nicotine free but it seem a bit expensive
so I thought I might give mixing a go
ive read a bit but not sure what ratio vg pg to use
I like a very strong tobacco flavours
any help would be great
thanks Colin

Hi Colin and welcome.
10ml is quite a lot compared with the average which seems to be around 3-4ml/day, have you always been a heavy vaper or when you cut down to 6mg/ml? How long have you been on 6mg/ml?
What make of juices do you normally vape and do you know what ratio PG/VG that they are, as a starting point? (PG/VG 70/30 ?)
PG gives some throat hit (as does nicotine that you're planning on cutting out), carries flavours well and produces some vapour. VG gives more vapour but tends to mute flavours and add a slight sweetness.
FA Perique Black & Dark Vapure are examples two strong tobacco flavours, that can be used alone or combined.

Not sure what % pg vg I'm using but it's from mist
i like there gold & silver but with a few extra drops of there concentrate
so you're saying if I go to 70% pg to help with throat hit
is this all I need
thanks colin

For commercial liquids PG/VG 70/30 is quite common, it's a balance between the strengths and weaknesses of both PG & VG and would say a reasonable starting point. Mixing involves some experimentation, so make up a small amount first. Knowing the characteristics of PG & VG and your first mix you can then adjust future mixes to refine the mix to your liking.
[Edit to Add] Just had a look at Mist e-liquid website and they state that all their e-liquid is 80/20 PG/VG.

I'd maybe try mixing at 3mg to start with colin563, just buy a small bottle of nicotine base . . . it may be better and more successful to slowly reduce your nicotine, rather than cutting it all out in one swoop. Have you seen our forum Mixing Calculator that will help you with your calculations. allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/page/calculator
