I received my kayfun 3.1 clone from fasttech today - I haven't tried it yet (it's getting a clean before I put anything in it) but I've checked it over and it looks great, a really high quality copy. However, be aware that unlike the Russian clone it doesn't come with anything else - no spare screws, o-rings or drip tip adapter and steel window. It's worth ordering the spare parts (also available through fasttech) at the same time of you do decide to get one of these attys: www.fasttech.com/products/1562801I previously bought one of these from modsandatties in the uk, and they supplied it with all necessary spare parts and extras, so I didn't realise that the model on FT was for the atty only - thought it worth mentioning as I know a lot of people are looking at getting one.

I think the 3.1 is probably the best of the bunch on the FT site. Just be careful not to over-tighten the screws that hold the coil as they are very soft. Decent replacements are on Ebay. 1.6mm pan head Stainless screws. The O rings are all standard sizes and can also be found on Ebay.

got two kayfun lites inbound. will update when they land The main problem with the Lites/Russian 92% clones are the air intake holes and air adjustment holes. When they make them it looks like they drill the air intake first, then drill and tap the air adjustment hole. This pushes a small amount of metal into the air intake hole and some of them get partially blocked. Some also get a fair amount of swarf in the same area. That's why a lot report "whistling", it literally creates a whistle. Best way is to strip it down to bare case, run a good quality 1.5mm or 1.6mm drill bit down the air intake hole, then get all the swarf out. You may also find the top of the centre tube stands proud in-between the two screws. Remove the screws and file it flat to the positive post, then gently run a 4mm drill bit into it to remove any burrs. If you leave it proud they can be prone to shorting on the coil. Again 1,6mm Stainless panheads are available on Ebay if you have any problems. I've got a genuine KFL and a Tobeco clone. With your eyes closed you wouldn't know the difference.

Thanks for drill tip, I had whistling clone, took less than 5 mins to do as you said & yes I got more swarf out ( I had thoroughly cleaned) she sure is quieter now

Knowing what FT is like for shipping I was shocked to see the Kayftun up on next day ship, placed order yesterday and yes all packaged and ready to go. www.fasttech.com/products/1559100I know there's been talk of missing juice channels,so placed order and opened a ticket and reply said they'd check before sending.

Good to know that they'll check, but I have three and the build quality on all of the 3.1 clones has been excellent. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed!

Hmm, no, it was the one that is now listed as sold out lenny59. I hadn't realised they had changed suppliers, I ordered in January - but of course they only arrived a week or so ago, as is the fasttech way...

Chances are the new one listed is exactly the same spec, but no guarantees of course.
