Was it as gregb asked? Dry burning the coil after fitting? I soak mine in juice, reassemble then check the ohms, if they're fine I'll fill the tank and do a few primer vapes then start vaping. It was rip trippers that was saying in his how to vid never to dry burn the coil in any of these small things due to the rubber grommet as the burnt taste is what you'll get, I've never had the burnt taste yet following that advice.
If I want to see a nice glow I'll use the rba instead lol

I'm following rip trippers guide on youtube just now and everything goes pretty well but my coil is coming up at 4.5ohms for some reason lol. Just as well I bought 10 metres. Are you remembering to subtract the resistance of your multimeter probes/leads from that? (touch the probes together first, remember the ohms and then subtract that from your coil reading)

Well there's some replacement silicone parts here now if you ever wanted to avoid the rubber taste the easy way r.ebay.com/Y3kajSthat's pretty expensive for just 10 silicone grommets, you can get 10 full coil-units that come with silicone grommets for about the same price off fasttech.

I checked the ohms on my svd before continuing. The wire was the wrong thickness. Often some folk will call a wire a certain gauge but it's not always clear whether they're talking about the awg number of the thickness in mm's. I'm getting the hang of it though.
