Article on today's EU vote: www.europeanvoice.com/article/2014/february/parliament-adopts-new-eu-tobacco-rules/79824.aspxHealth campaign groups said they were broadly pleased with today's result. "Today marks a genuine turning point for European tobacco control – and a huge stride towards a tobacco free Europe," said Archie Turnbull, president of the Smoke Free Partnership."[This vote] will help protect young people and children across Europe, saving many lives and helping prevent young Europeans from starting to smoke." So what about us ADULTS then ??? the vote is not saving e-cig users lives that's for sure!!

the only way we will see a smoke free europe is if there is an alternative, the e cig is that alternative, unfortunately losing the revenue generated by taxation is the only concern of our leaders, regulation = taxes

Today, the European Union voted to regulate the Ecig in its directive on Tobacco Products, applying absurd restrictions that shall end the Ecig as we know it. Only inefficient models, mainly sold by the tobacco industry, will remain allowed. We are to expect: This will end the best alternative to tobacco that was ever created. Against these absurd and unfair rules, there is a last resort: the European Citizen Initiative (ECI), organized by the European Free Vaping Initiative (EFVI). We are to gather at least 1000000 digital signatures before November 25th, 2014. This initiative is already starting to catch some steam
(tallying is done by the European Commission directly), but we need more, way more. This official process will let us make a specific legislative proposal and have it voted by the European Parliament. Through some interesting irony, the very elective body that condemned us today may have to undo its damages within a few months. [/a] - Complete the form. You will need to provide proper identification to ensure you are entitled to vote. - Rejoice for having accomplished your civic duty - Optional: spread the word, print the flyers, talk about it around you, and join the fight. [/ul] Support the EVFI - We rely on you! More information at www.efvi.eu

Ok managed to get this to load up - of all the days for my internet to go on a go slow stop - It says - Cartridge size will be capped at 2ml. E-cigarettes will be limited to a maximum permitted nicotine concentration level of 20mg/ml
So they can't take away clearo's that we own, so 2ml is not a problem.
The next bit - E-cigarettes will be limited to a maximum permitted nicotine concentration level of 20mg/ml, is that talking about cartridges - as in cig a likes? What about pre- made eliquid? All characterising flavours will be banned - what flavours are characterising, and which are not?

Yep, clearo's or tanks that can hold up to 2ml of liquid would be ok Pre-made liquid would only be allowed to be sold in 10ml bottles at a maximum of 20mg/ml Don't think they've actually banned flavours for e-liquid.........yet. They were on about flavoured analogue cigarettes such as menthol, vanilla etc being phased out over the next 4 years. A lot of us use tanks bigger than 2ml so it would affect these peeps A lot of us use higher than 20mg nicotine so it would affect these peeps A lot of us mix our own e-liquid so the 20mg/ml supplied in 10ml bottles would affect these peeps There are other bans coming into effect such as advertising, possibly cross border sales plus other things, can't remember them all now, but what will mainly affect us vapers are the 3 things I've listed above.....tanks, pre-made liquid & mixing our own juice

All characterising flavours will be banned - what flavours are characterising, and which are not? You forget something about clearos - a lot of them are over 2ml. Aspire BDC Novas, Protanks, Nautilus, unitank etc all illegal. Lots of RBAs over 2ml and I guess they are illegal as well. Evods and iclear16s, CE*. about all we'll get. And considering 1clears and Evods aren't leakproof when refilling, we won't get those either. We'll be waiting for a while for replacements with the six month application for all new devices with testing and contact information. I believe in two years, they'll be reviewing if they want to ban all refillables (not sure if that's still in Art18.) The UK has already said the only permissible flavours will be the ones allowed in NRT and I haven't seen them change their tune on that so I would guess menthol, a random fruit flavour and possibly a blackcurrent sort of flavour. No one is entire sure yet, let alone the EU themselves, but what ever they have in store for us it's not going to be pretty so we will have to fight to avoid disposable cartridge look-alikes which is all the EU really want. Actually, if I think rightly even auto batteries are banned because all ecigs have to be childproof. Vendors can sell existing stock but once the hammer comes down, vaping as we know it is changed for the worse till we can sort this mess out. Art18 is a complete clusterfuck, not least because it's open to member states interpretation. They can't allow more than the TPD decrees but they are more than welcome to allow as much less as they want. If the UK wants a limit of 1ml @ 2mg they can. What a mess
