I don't like the idea of bleach in my lungs so go with unbleached.

All white cotton will have been bleached, and coloured cotton will have been bleached and then dyed - unbleached cotton is like unicorn droppings.

Definitely unbleached. And as a pack will last you all year, might as well get organic too. My local Boots only had the pads in organic, which work fine.

Interesting crossed post. My organic pack doesn't say unbleached, and now I look at the blurb on it, I find it is all about the farming, not the subsequent treatment. So no doubt @yinyang is right.

Even when it says "unbleached" in big letters, the small print will usually say "no chlorine treatment used" which simply means that they have used hydrogen peroxide instead of chlorine bleach.
