Hi everyone, First time posting. I recently bought a smart-smoker pocketsize pack ( www.smartsmoker.co.uk/products/Pocket-Size-Smart-Smoker-Electronic-Cigarette.html) and after many problems with it, I want to upgrade. I've been back and forth with their customer service 'team' (every single time it's the same girl - as someone who's been in customer service, never a good sign that it's a legit company) and I assumed it was faulty parts until every part had been replaced. The cartridges last for a far shorter time they say they're supposed to and I bought the e-liquid, it's pants and doesn't last either so I'm done with them! Before I go and waste even more money, I want to be certain that my next one is of good quality. What I require more than anything is longevity of cartridges or e-liquid. I'm a moderate user, like a good throat hit (I think that's the term I think I've seen being used?) and have a penchant for menthol flavour. What would you recommend?

Hi Lucy wishing you a warm welcome to the group... i knew someone would suggest a Riva aka eGo ...they're a very good e-cig with a nice battery that will last all day. the throat hit and flavour will come down to what e-liquid you use. there is a plethora of methol liquids about you could give this link a look for suppliers allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=suppliers&thread=2&page=1#2 i particularly like juice from www.vapeescape.co.uk or www.enjuice.com how many regular cigarettes did you used to smoke as this will give you an indication of the nicoteine level you will need... 10mg = light smoker < 10 cigs 18mg = moderate 20 cigs 24-30mg = high smoker >20 cigs have fun here

Thank you very much, perpetua, tyefighter and ianrowley109. I will be purchasing the Riva ASAP and will be checking out all the e-liquids via the links provided. I'm still miffed that I wasted a fair chunk of money through smartsmoker, but I'm a newbie and you don't know what you don't know until you do. I still prefer that stick of crap to over the counter cigarettes anyway!

Welcome to the All About, Lucy. I have to agree with everyone about the Riva, I use the eGo which is the same as the Riva.

I've ordered the Riva, so that, along with menthol and apple e-liquids, should be here Thurs or Friday with any luck. In the meantime, I'm stuck with the notsosmartsmoker.
One thing that concerns me is that their e-liquid says "very toxic by inhalation" as the first line on the label. Unsurprisingly, I am inhaling as it is for use with an e-cigarette - is this a warning that I should genuinely take heed of? :/

I have never seen that on an e-liquid bottle, Lucy. Maybe they mean the liquid itself ?? I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me.

Nicotine is very toxic and will be absorbed by the body through contact with the skin, inhalation and ingestion....however if used correctly and carefully it poses no real harm... to put it into perspective i think i read a leathal dose would be 2ml at 36mg strength ingested all at once... i dont think anyone could vape that quantity that quickly!!!

Pure nicotine is lethal.

So if I've accidentally gotten a drop of 11mg nicotine e-liquid on my fingers, it's not going to be of serious harm to my health? I naturally get it on my fingers by having to take the cartridge out to refill.
