I've not been in the Kings Arms - useful to know that it's vape friendly!
For a back- up, it depends what direction you want to go in. For something cheaper and perfectly adequate, get a spinner, or if it's really just going to be for emergencies a cheap ego. If you want something similar to your MVP, there is a whole world of tube mods - but you'll need batteries and chargers.
An in-between option is the Itaste 3.0, very similar in operation to the MVP, charges from the same cable, but small and thin like an ego.

Hi ionian. I'd not been in there before either. It was absolutely packed as the birthday girl had rented out the whole pub, so not a typical evening. I wasn't blowing out vast clouds of vapour, but none of the bar staff batted an eyelid. A couple of women did comment that I had a big one though How was The Cricketers? I've not been there either. Its more of a restaurant than a pub now isn't it? Thanks for the recommendations for a spare. I think for now it is just for emergencies. In the future I'm sure I'd like to explore the world of tube mods and rebuildables etc. but I don't want to run before I can walk.

vigowomble - The Cricketers is very much a restaurant now, great food, pricey for a pub but always good quality and always packed. So packed that we couldn't get a table, and ended up in Farningham. By tube mods, I mean the vv/vw tube mods like the vamo, svd, zmax etc. They do the same thing as your MVP, just with the tube styling. It depends what you like - get decent batteries and chargers and they'll always work with anything you buy in the future - but it's a bigger initial outlay, and if you just want a backup it's probably not worth the expense.

Cheers ionian. Sounds like The Cricketers is a book in advance venue then. Thanks for the clarification. I think I'll try and find a fairly inexpensive one with micro USB charging like the MVP and all our mobile phones. Have got loads of chargers at home, in the car and in my van so makes sense. Just had a look at your kit and stand in your inventory thread. Very nice collection and great looking stand. Envious, me?
