Been reading this thread with interest. Think i'll have to pick up some of these ready made coils next time I pluck up the courage to make another FT order (had a bad experience last time). Been on the bottom coil clearos for a while now, evods and mini davide.
In the last few days i've just started rewicking some of the coils I have with cotton wool. Getting some pretty good results and a new lease of life once all the old gunk has been cleaned / dry burned off the coil. Guess i'll reach a point where the coils finally had it though. Not really sure when that is though? How do you tell ? Or is it just a case of the coil eventually stopping to fire?

Re-wicking with cotton wool will give me another 2 days but then if the coil looks dirty I give up on it.

.....and it's vaping like a good 'un Oh just thought as well, did you pop a bit extra in the top?? A flavour wick or whatever they want to call it? Or did you not bother? sammy13 I got a pack each of NR-R-NR single wick 1.8ohm and 4 wick NR-R-NR 1.8ohm. The ones I've re-done so far were using the single wicks, and no I didn't put an extra bit of wick over the top, think it would restrict the juice flow too much. Currently the draw is nice and loose, good airflow and no wicking issues

Once it gets to that point no amount of washing/dry burning will get it back, that's time for a new coil

Is it not mostly the wick that does the work of carrying the flavour? Just asking as been curious about this for a while and not really come to any conclusions about it yet

Once it gets to that point no amount of washing/dry burning will get it back, that's time for a new coil Could an overused coil lead to a drop off in flavour? Even if not specifically getting a burnt taste. I've found using the stock heads you can get a bit of a burnt taste when the wick or flavour wick start to get a bit black in places. Not noticed any burnt taste off the coil as such since I've started rewicking with cotton wool.

mine finally got here yesterday, first one in evod/pt head, reading 1.7ohms, just waiting for the juice to soak in then will try it...... Wow.. you and me both!! Hooray. Mine arrived and I set one up immediately. Unwrapped it to 5 (6?) , trimmed the silica, put in another bit of the silica as a flavour (anti-leak) wick in the top and off she went. Been puffing on it ALL day..... Perfect (so far)...

PS.. It took about 4 minutes to do, which is about 10 less than a microcoil/cotton wool. I'll do 5-10 of each over the next few weeks and report back. So far, I'm impressed.... all for 3 pence.. 3 pence

it's just not worth faffing around coiling yourself when they're this cheap...bargain I guess we'll find out. IF I can stop it gurgling on BCCs and get more than 2-3 days, I'll be permanently using these. Can't see me swapping on the big RBAs though... I'm not sure I'd even know how.

well, I did my first two single-wick ones yesterday, and no probs The only thing I've done on the others I've done so far is put one strand of flavourwick on top. I'm in the process of doing a couple of heads with the 4-wick ones - will update here when tried them, but the are slightly more fragile than the single-wick, so be a bit more careful with them
