Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet lately due to falling off the wagon. I think this is because my setup isn't producing a good vape. Back on it now but still not satisfied.
I'm using a stainless vamo v2 from Fasttech with a genuine vivi nova and Emporium vapour juice. I usually use 1 x 18350 but have tried 2 and I don't get much vapour from it. Tried various resistance coils from 1.8 up to 4 and not much difference. If I go above 5.5 w it is very hot and tastes a bit burnt.
could this be due to the batteries as this is the only thing I haven't changed yet or is my vamo just gubbed?

Is your vamo set to RMS mode? It makes all the difference!
What batteries are you using? (Not the size, but brand & chemistry)

It's set to mode 2. The batteries are the generic Chinese "DKI" brand that came with it and they just say Lithium. Not Li-On

The vamo operates in two different modes Mode1/AVG/Mean and Mode2/RMS . To get a consistent vape the vamo should always be in Mode2. To change between modes press and hold the - button for about ten seconds. If the display shows Mode 2 or No2 you are good to go if it shows Mode 1 then repeat the process. A Vivi nova probably needs 8-10 watts Here's a (slightly under rehearsed!) video

Not likely to be the battery. Have you changed the head or recoiled on the Nova? They don't last forever. It's possible the Vamo is malfunctioning. Difficult to say without it in front of me

Are the batteries grey? If they're the same as mine, they're ok-ish, but you can get MUCH better. I have a single efest 18350, which is much better than the grey Chinese ones. My Samsung 18650s are better still. There's a thread about, on torchy batteries - I believe they are the best value for vaping?
My recommendation would be to use a protank (or other bcc), and put a microcoil with cotton in it. That's what solved my vamo woes!

Thanks for the replies folks!
I've always used it in mode 2. I've used it with the 2 fake vivi novas that came with it and a genuine one with multiple different coils but don't get huge clouds of vapour and like I say it seems hot above 5,5W. Just tred it on 8 w with a new coil and it tastes mingin! But no more vapour produced.

Yes Fred they are grey batteries. I was thinking of trying an Aspire BDC vivi style. probably should get new batteries while I'm at it.

The 2 protection circuits don't play nice together!

fred misread it a bit. Assumed it had been working correctly before but had gone off. Rereading it looks as though it has never worked well so you are correct.

Yeah you're right, I've never been that impressed with it. Maybe I should try some new batteries before giving up and getting a new mod.

Haha @cornersruns I can't vouch for my erstwhile partner Thanks Perpetua I'm using 80/20 as far as I'm aware but just about to try 100% vg. I tried the Aspire BDC in Emporium vapour in Glasgow and was blown away by the flavour. Might ask him if I can try it on my vamo before I order one.

Perpetua I know it's difficult for you not to recommend shopping but I think vroom fondle should sort out the initial problem first. Hot and burnt above 5.5W on a vamo and a nova is not right, there is something wrong there.
