That is a deliberately scary article. It all depends how it is implemented, but it seems unlikely to me that they will bother to control it to that extent. For instance "tamper-proof" doesn't usually mean in law that you can't actually tamper with it if you really want to, just that the design is such that you'd have to do it deliberately and there'd be evidence that you'd done it. Ego/CE4 type combos are already explicitly allowed.
The 20mg limit is a serious problem, and 10ml bottles are an irritation, but I don't they'll try to take vv/vw off the market.

One thing it did achieve, until the actual measures take hold, is validate the notion. They have effectively agreed that ecigs are a good thing, the fact that that then go On to proscribe them out of existAnce sets the rules of engagement. We can drag them Kicking and screaming into the real world, with real science and data. We can hold up The directive and punch great holes through it in public. When all we had to push against Was the vague notions and wild speculation it was hard to get down to the real world nity gritty. We now have a general endorsement of sorts which we can try and mould into what we actually need.

Implementing Legislation can only work within the confines of the Directive; it cannot make things better, only worse.

Implementing Legislation can only work within the confines of the Directive; it cannot make things better, only worse. As it currently stands I agree, that is why the www.efvi.eu is so important, and while we gather signatures we can also try and educate politicians on why the current directive is so wrong. News night was a step in the right direction, probably seen by some of the right people.
