hey guys Im going to be doing an order from FT for some iclear coils and drip tips and thought i could add a vamo v4 body on to the order. I have very little clue of what kind of batteries it would take and the charger that would be needed to work out if it is much cheaper order through FT or through a UK vendor. Didnt want to place the order until i knew for sure that it is cheaper. I love my MVP but another decent battery set up is needed. Any other suggestions of mods is welcome, seen some very nice shiny things at the london meet up but no clue what is really the best to buy.

Hey bubbleglass - I just peered at the Vamo options on FT, and the only V4 they appear to have is a chromed brass body. If you're going for a Vamo, I would definitely recommend getting a steel one - the most common point of failure with Vamos is the threads in the connector, and while the steel body ones aren't top notch, they're definitely longer lasting than the chromed brass ones. So either a V2, a V5, or if you're one of those strange people who like the V3 ribbing, then that, but steel. Vamos use 18650 or 18350 batteries, for which you will need a good charger. The Nitecore i2 or i4 chargers are a good price from FT, my i4 has worked perfectly - but I wouldn't advise buying your batteries from there - they have some real rubbish batteries, and there's also potential shipping problems. Track down Torchy the Battery Boy, either on UKV or on ebay, good prices and he knows batteries inside out.

I have the V3 from fasttech which has just unfortunately died on me. I like it so much i have ordered just the top part as there is nothing wrong with the body, I have also ordered the V2 as a back up device and should be receiving the V5 any day from a raffle held just before Christmas.
If you have the time to wait getting one from fasttech will save you money, but a pain if something goes wrong with it.
Get the batteries from the UK.

I've had my Fasttech supplied V2 Stainless Steel Vamo for just under 7 months now and its seen daily use and is still performing great - allegedly its the threads that go but mine seem fine.
The kit with the i2 charger and a battery is the best value (its a Sony battery so decent) at £35 - you can swap the power lead that comes with it for any UK figure of 8 lead so no need to worry about the wrong plug.
Also FWIW all most of my batteries bar the one that came with my eVic have come from FT and they have all been absolutely fine and decent lasting - the 18350s are even the allegedly awful Ultrafire and they have neither blown up nor discharged themselves quickly (I get a full workday out of an 18350 normally - I always carry a spare with me mind but I rarely need to use it).
tHowever The direct comparison would be the £55 V5 SS kit from myepack - an extra £20 gets you the V5 model (which has a better display and a removeable top cap but a more checkered reputation for reliability) and an 18350 battery as well as an 18650 one (and a decent clearomiser or two - I'd be tempted to add the extra £4 and get a Protank 2 with it) and of course a UK vendor with a decent rep and next day delivery.
Its not the huge saving it once was between China and UK since the likes of myepack entered the market - personally for the drawbacks of sourcing from China, the two week minimum wait and the dangers of the battery causing customs to return it and the extra stuff in the kit I'd go for the myepack bundle.

Wow, wasn't expecting so much detail with your replies, a lot of information to take in. Is there much difference between v2, v3 and the v5? Time thankfully isn't an issue, my MVP is working a dream. Think ill have to price up the difference between buying through ft and in the UK. If I go for UK, might buy a mechanical mod from ft.. so many choices Thanks

The V2 is the classic - it has a fairly basic LED screen and the fixed top cap means that whilst it is ego threaded and the SS version has airflow for evods etc, good luck getting them off the device without unscrewing them and sending juice all over the place - its basically best used with 510 tank like a protank/iclear30 etc etc. Even now it remains one of the best value electric VV/VW tube mods you can get - bang for buck very little else outperforms it (yes you can get much better but you'll have to pay for it).
The V3 tweaked the circuitry and added a nicer display but also boasted a revised design that looks distinctly like it belongs in an Anne Summers catalogue.
The V4 was a shortlived clone that basically took the improved display and circuitry of the V3 and popped it back into the V2 body.
The V5 added a removable top cap which fixes the issue with ego threaded atomisers and tweaked the board again but anecdotally appears to have a much higher fail rate than the earlier models.

I didn't even notice the options for clearomisers, really makes the myepack kit really worth the money and probably wouldn't save a huge amount by buying from ft.

If your happy to order from FT have you considered the sigelei zmax v3 ? It's a very sturdy vv/vw mod telescopic for 18350, 18500 and 18650 batteries and no thread issues that I'm aware of. At around £26 for the improved version with removable collar it's good value.

After what has been a bit of rubbish 5 days, decided to order the vamo from myepack but making the decision of what tanks to go for still hasn't been decided but think ill order an aerotank and an extra 18650 battery on top of the vamo kit. Nothing beats a bit of vapemail when life gets a bit tough

I've had my MVP since early January so going to be a bit of a change as I've got very used to its size and shape. Order is fully placed now, went for the 2x iclear16 with the vamo kit. I'm now feeling rather poor
