I bought everything from the list from Super Shiny's microcoil and cotton rebuilding guide on here. While I was waiting for it to arrive I purchased some pre made coils for rebuilding off ebay. Now that these have arrived I notice that the wire of the legs looks a different colour to the wire of the coil (legs look like they have been soldered on), these coils were listed as "Nichrome wire (non resistant/resistant/non resistant)". I'm not really sure what this means. I just want to ask why the wire of the legs is different to the wire of the coils? and in what way are mico coils different from standard coils? I will be attempting to rebuild micro coils from the guide using Kanthal wire

NR/R/NR wires means that the bit that is actually coiled is made of resistance wire which gets hot. The legs are made of non-resistance wire which stays cool. This prevents the legs getting hot and avoids the possibility of singeing the rubber grommet.

To be honest singeing isn't really a problem unless you vape at exceedingly high watts. Almost all Protank, Evod, iClear etc etc heads are made with single wires rather than NR/R/NR
The combi wires are belt-and-braces and not a necessity. I have microcoils in all my Protanks and have never burned a grommet.
