I have tried the same juice from a sub ohm dripper (someone else’s) and then from one of my tanks: my tanks aint bad, I rebuild the heads with microcoils, but yes there's a big difference, I get that

We were ordering our e liquid from a vendor who has just stopped selling most of their range, now at a bit of a loss on where to buy from next. Any suggestions? We tend to like strong flavours

Thanks everyone, yeah it's an MVP I'm using, hissing seems to be happening for much longer than usual. I just making coils using thicker wire, I did 12 wraps of .3mm kanthal for 1.6 ohms, ha, I prefer the thicker wire, it seems easier to work with.

I have made microcoils for my protank heads, two of them are making a massive hissing sound for some time after the button is released on the mod, does not sound right, sounds like they are burning out, but then they vape ok again, it bothers me because it does not sound like they are working properly, what could be the cause of this? I tested the resistance but did not dry burn them before inserting cotton wick and using.

Thanks for links to guides very useful indeed. Am using cotton, handy to know that the larger the diameter the higher the resistance. Thanks.

I was using .25mm Kanthal to make microcoils at around 2 ohms for variable wattage devices but I am finding that the coils are warping when being manoeuvred inside the protank head and have to be binned. When using the thicker .3mm wire this does not happen so much. 12 wraps of .3mm kanthal is about 1.8 ohms (I think), is there any reason why I can't just use the thicker wire for thesehigher resistance coils? Would there be an issue with them not heating up so well? Or is there some other reason why I should not use it? The thicker wire is just much easier to work with.

I'm using .25 Kanthal to do microcoils in a protank head, I want to switch to .3 Kanthal so I can do more wraps to cover more of the cotton. I am currently wrapping coils around a 2mm jewellers screwdriver. Someone sent me a link to a program to work out how many wraps you need, where you type in all the details and it calculates it, but I cannot use it on this computer as the Linux system won't let me open it. So I wonder if anyone can help me: how many wraps of .3 kanthal would I need around a 2mm jewellers screwdriver to get about a 1 ohm resistance? Or should I wrap around something else?

Personally I use IMR batteries plus a Vape Safe fuse in mechanical mods. An atomizer short can cause the battery to heat up, IMRs, although safer chemistry, are not protected, hence the fuse, to protect the battery. The fuse has a 6 amp limit so you can't take the resistance of your coils much below .8 probably, that's the only problem, since some people enjoy vaping at lower resistances

I have 0.25 kanthal and 6 wraps around a 2mm jewellers screwdriver gives me about 1.2 ohms in a protank head, but what size kanthal would I use if I wanted to do less wraps? It comes in so many different sizes 0.15, 0.2, 0.25, 0.35 etc, would I need thicker kanthal for less wraps? or thinner? Is there some way of working out how many wraps you need for each size?

Have tried to make a microcoil using a lighter and it didn't work, was just wondering if anyone owns a blow torch type thing they could recommend.
