today is international women's day - in Italy women get a bunch of Mimosa - such beautiful - delicate - gorgeously smelling flowers here are Mimosa for all the women  |

And in Russia (where I lived for a year), you give the significant lady in your life an odd number of flowers. For me in 1997 that meant buying five flowers from a kiosk outside the metro for my landlady and grovelling as I'd been out on the town and not got home until 8am! Luckily the flowers more than made up for it.
Until this year in the UK I'd never really heard of us celebrating or discussing it, so I assumed it was a Soviet throwback rather than something truly international.

I am a firm believer that women are not just here for many many things in life abut to put the male species on the right path in life, without them we are useless.
tbh if women was in control of finances in the world we would not be in this mess we are in today.
