starter kit for newbie

I'm going to dive into the dark art of mixing my own juice. Could anybody point me in the right direction for a starter kit. That's going to be easy to use. Thanks in advance.

Hi upnorth. I would suggest you have a look at Perpetua's thread "Mixing Supplies ~ Vendors & Sellers". Sorry don't know how to do a link. Don't forget to put sellotape or clear nail varnish on your syringes to stop the writing wearing off!

I started with a kit similar to this:

You will need some PG and VG:

and some nicotine. As a beginner I would recommend something no stronger than 32 mg. Mixing your own is fun but it does have its dangers. Best to leave the stronger stuff until you know more about what you are doing so accidents are less likely to happen.

You may also need some flavouring (T-Juice is good for a beginner as it tastes good and you only need to mix the one flavour) and extra bottles. Have fun and stay safe.

One more question why is some of the nic pg based and some vg. What's the reasoning behind that.

It's just personal preference.  If you prefer a VG heavy mix, then it's worth getting VG nic base.  The stronger your base, the less important... for example, i have 72mg base. I mix at 18mg. So 25% of my mix is base. As another 20-30% is flavourings, which are counted as PG, if I want a 50/50 mix, I need a VG base.

I vape 60/40 vg/pg so I want a vg based nic. I think.

Yes you do If you see AG base, it's the same as VG, just prediluted with water to make it thinner

Job done ordered my mixing stuff from lt ecigs. And concentrate from t juice. Thanks for all the help.

72mg VG Nic base makes things real easy..... and gives you a bit more flexibility.

For example:-
If you want a 50/50 mix at 18mg then you can just make up an easy bottle (of any size) using...
25% Nic Base, 25% PG, 25% VG, 25% Flavouring.

If you want to use less less flavour, then whatever you deduct from the flavouring, you add to the PG....
So a 20% flavour mix, you add 5% more of PG, a 15% flavour mix, you add 10% more PG, and so on.

what strength do you want your finished juice to be?  So long as it's less than 36mg then all will be fine

36 is fine to begin with. Once you have the hang of it and decide that you want to fill your freezer with base, go for 72 then

Thanks I'm looking to get 18mg. So I''ll have a look at the mixing calculator and see if I can get my head round it.
