Having just started using e-cigs, I have a question! As I will be choosing different suppliers/brands/flavours/and strengths of e-liquids. My question is: Do I need a new/fresh clearomiser for every different flavour? If not. How do I clean them, or are they simply, disposable?

Hi lairey, I didn't understand anything from the link you sent me Not your fault, but I couldn't understand the acronyms/abbreviations etc. I'm really new to all this and at my age (65) need it spelling out to me in words of one syllable. Thank you for your help.

Hi wingit. Clearos can be washed in warm water and left to dry. They should be regarded as consumables though, so performance will decline over time. Newer versions have replaceable wicks and coils that make it cheaper to refresh them.

My question is: Do I need a new/fresh clearomiser for every different flavour? If not. How do I clean them, or are they simply, disposable? I was in the same situation as you a few months ago when I started, with some flavours you can just wait until you have emptied, or nearly emptied your clearo(clearomiser, the top bit) and just put new juice in.... you'll get a phase where you've got a mix of flavours though. Anything coffee, desert, tobaccoo or menthol/minty will linger longer in the clearo so might be worth keeping a clearo just for each of these types if you can. You can also wash your clearos out using water and letting them dry near a radiator. After a bit I had 4-6 protank minis and half a dozen iclear16s on rotation! Though having said all that, I ended up using a dripper as in lairey s post and sorted what was definetly not for me much quicker.

I also use a few protanks - and clean them now in an ultrasonic cleaner - but water does it as well - I tried to clean them with denture tablets - but this did not work as I still could taste them - yuk so better just water - this is why I like the protanks and bottom coil tops - cause I just change the coil - if the wick is not burnt then I just let them air dry and reuse them as said above - menthol is pretty strong - so have one extra one for the menthol tastes - otherwise I too just mix - for example if there is still a bit of banana left - cherry pie does not harm - contrary

You can just drip a few drops of juice directly on to the coil, with the mouthpiece on there and vape - makes trying lots of different juices really easy The bauway ones linked in that thread are 3 for less than £10 and come with a free mouthpiece.

Hi wingitI am lazy like jess I have got myself a collection of tanks over the last 18mths. I sort them in to flavour styles coffees/fruits/desserts/alcoholic drinks and so on, then as others have said you will learn in time to re wick or just wash out and dry the ones you have. I have recently moved on to rebuildable tanks which are more expensive, so building up a collection of these will take sometime. A couple of cheaper tanks I have that give a greater flavour are the Kanger aerotank and also the epen. Both of these you can choose whether to recoil yourself, or, until you are more experienced just buy replacement heads to stick in when you need to change them. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Unless it's a really strong flavour, I just vape through any flavour change wingit . . . and have done ever since I started vaping, After a few puffs the old flavour soon goes and you can find some quite nice combinations as a result. Bicarbonate of Soda can be a better option for cleaning as it's tasteless in comparison to denture tablets, which is what they are mainly composed of anyway . . . .
