Been vaping now for about a month gave up the stinkies nearly 3 weeks now, My question is ive bought lots of diffrent juices from well known vendors and diffrent pg/vg mix. On saturday i bought a bottle of RY4 absolutley loved it tasted good all day but my problem is its the only time in a month that ive had a good taste from any juice, Again this morning no taste i just get a stinging/burning inside my mouth when i vape. I have an mvp which ive tried several diffrent tanks on and started low on the wattage and worked up the scale but just dont hit or cant get the sweet spot, I tried vaping menthol to give my taste buds a break. Sorry to go on but getting to the point where am i feel im wasting my money on something thats not working, Am i doing something silly wrong ? Any help or advise would be great Grandad

Stick with the mixing would be my advice Grandad . . . then you can tailor your flavouring ratios to your specific requirements. Which if you've been a long time smoker are probably on the high side, taste buds don't like smoking. It's the sole reason I got into DIY for the self same reasons - I've never looked back since.

Grandad our taste buds take a complete hammering from smoking, and it can take a while for them to recover. The longer you've been a smoker the more numbed they will be and they may never return to full function - but they will improve. I suspect it's more likely that than your equipment or technique. Some vendors offer an 'extra flavour' option on their juices. I know Vapology do, and I'm sure other people may know of others. Or, you could tey doing some DIY mixing so you can manipulate the flavour percentages yourself. For now though I'd stick at it - it will get better

Well from one Grandad to another, don't give up, I've been really frustrated with the lack of taste in juices for a long time now, the first one that convinced me that people were not just making it up that they could taste all kinds of wonderful things was Red Astaire (T-juice) that set me on a journey to find strong flavours as I'm obviously just immune to most flavours. The next was Mrs Lords Druide but at £9 with postage for 15ml was a bit steep so mixed up the excellent Fluid by Super-Shiny , I have tested that thoroughly over the last week and it is exactly the same as Mrs Lords (to my tastebuds anyway). So don't give in it's just old knackered tastebuds and by the way if you find any good strong ones let me know please.

i have same issue and mixing is good as u make it stronger if u want. go higher than the normal level suggested for mixing also try to have a day of drinking more water then normal and 2 packs of strong cheese and onion crisps , works for me. what percentages have u tried for what juice and i find 70/30 better for flavour. lots of the ones people generally say 15-20% iam going for 25%-30%.

Grandad it is nothing you are doing wrong it is just how it is unfortunately. Some people are lucky and like lots of juices and can describe the flavours, others like myself can taste very little in juices and I still struggle to find one I like. The thing is when you do find one that you like you are so pleased you use it all the time, then suddenly you can not taste it anymore. It happened to me with chocomint I went through 200ml of the stuff, then decided I couldn't taste it. It hadn't changed - I had in some way. Last week I only had menthol to vape, quite a strong one , and I made one up super strength, because I even lost the taste of that. The extra flavour options are great, or ask on here for known strong juices and pick something you fancy. Have you tried Red Astaire? The throat issue, could be a reaction to something, or it could be the transition into vaping, my throat got to the stage where I felt like I had been eating razorblades , it took a while but it passed.

My nose took a complete hammering from the nrt nasal spray never mind the smoking. I can only taste a fresh batch of juice for about a day if not less then the taste goes... Nothing to worry about. I enjoy vaping so I don't mind the taste going

Out of interest how old are the coils/wicks in the tanks.
It as mentioned be your tastebuds playing up or dirty coils/wicks in the tanks.

hi Grandad - most of us go at some point in their vaping journey through the 'I can't taste flavours = vapers tongue' phase it's annoying to be in - but it does pass - I have for that times strong menthol citrus flvours and as @purple1234 says - make sure your coils are at their best - it gets rarer - I had sometimes in the evening - but I also noticed that my taste gets better - so your taste will improve too

Having a selection of flavours on the go I also find helps stop my taste buds from getting too tuned in Grandad . . . as well as not using coils past their best.
