Fasttech - Glass Squape - Discontinued

Anyone got their squape in yet from fasttech?
mine has not arrived yet, but always tomorrow.
and the problem does seem to be getting worse?

Mind arrived today. Aster confirming crazy resistance (4.8 ohms but no short) all heck broke loose in The World of Tom and off we went to look after nieces. A brief journey back home to enable one to complete homework and a dog walking stint I scraped some of the anodised coat from the female positive post threading with a small screw driver...I now have trained lightning when cold... Homework completed, the rest of the day and evening then became a doggie/niece cycle and I hope to have time tomorrow to go further.
However, I can confirm ghastly threading and soft posts... A ticket shall be raised tomorrow as I've little confidence in its long term viability.

After thinking that my FT Squape had got lost in transit somewhere, surprise surprise it arrived this morning

first up the 510 threads were shocking , after a little rub with one of the Mrs emery boards to take off the sharp edges then screwing it on & off a old viva nova base ( where replacement head goes is same thread) I finally got it into usable condition where I would risk screwing it onto a mod. I then tried quick micro coil on it its alive no connection probs here.
I then gave it 2 full cycles in ultra sonic cleaner , refitted micro coil with cotton wick & its vaping great

Apart from the shitty 510 threads I think this is a great atomiser, base threads & chimney threads are spot on

it carrys on as I have heard some say it worked for a while then died but so far so good great vape

How does it compare to the kayfuns? (vape wise)

IMO it is definitely on par with kayfun (i only have clones to compare but this is a clone too so fair to compare) might be even better, need a bit longer to decide. Apart from 510 threads this feels far better quality than kayfun clones & is a doddle to wick & coil infact would say its the easiest rebuild-able I have tried

Initially quite well, is the answer to the vape question. However, flooded quickly... Now this (and I think the dumping of the tank through centre pin overnight) was because I'd placed the coil very close to the air hole in the centre of the deck). Time / energy hasn't permitted further experimentation (although remainder of the Captain Custard from Steamgunk is slowly seeping out of my Expromizer as I chose it as my vape for a trip down to Lampeter then Carmarthen on the end of term Uni run for my daughter and her friend)....
(I should say seeping in the form of vapour )

My new base, FT tells me, shipped today - meantime I'll persevere with the old as time permits.

Meantime, I arrive home to find a second Aqua clone (this time with red o'rings and, by the feel of it, harsh 510 threads) awaiting me - given the vape quality of the first (wowza, enough to forgive a little dampness around the air control) I'm likely to prioritise the second over the Squape....

Then again, perhaps I'll find a 7 x 0.5 mm tap (thanks Brambles for the spec) before I try the new Aqua (the old did bad things to my SVD, before I discovered mechs)

Oh - a little off topic (and I realise that I should have been thinking about dies not taps) - I found this on a FT product request discussion relating to the dread Squape...

For folks reference:

- M7 x 0.5 - 510 threading
- M12 x 0.5 - eGo threading
- M20 x 0.5 - common mod threading: Stingray (not switch), Nemesis (not switch), Origin, etc
- M20 x 1 - common mod threading: Chi You, King, Astro, Atom, Hammer, Oni, etc

Looks like they are pretty rare in the UK so off to ebay / China we go....

My two (version A) are fine, apart from the the bucketfuls of machine oil when they arrived. Soon sorted that out with some of that 99% alcohol stuffy stuff. The vape/flavour is the best I've ever had. Just waiting for version ''B'' to drop through le letter box.

By the sound of it, I think the factory must have been passing the brandy about for a few hours, when version A was in production. Thank gawd they were sober and drinking coffee when mine were being made.

Yes the 510 threads are of very poor quality,as per `rich`s` photo on previous posting.

So... I've kludged the base so it's making the right contacts in the right place, and I'm living with the threading....
Now I've followed the standard 2x3mm silica with 3/4 turns of .25 Kanthal to give me 1.25 ohms and I've religiously ensured the bottom wick is in the channels and cut wet against the base (so no wick is pinched).
And with SteamGunk's Strawberry and Cream (not high on my list of favourite flavours but not so low it's a give-away) I've been running it for part of the day and I concur that it's really rather a good vape and so far hasn't leaked.
I look forward to trying it with one of my reference juice (Snake Oil or Druide) to see how it compares to my Kayfuns.
So... when replacement bases start coming through, you might be able to keep it as a spare or move it to a `good` mod with the new base (assuming threads are good).
