Are you sure about that Super-Shiny - protected batteries in a regulated mod with it's own inbuilt protection? I was always told that the protection chip in a protected battery would interfere with the electronic chip in a regulated mod ...  still, every day is a school day.

yep shiny is right the protection in the mod and the protection in the battery will be rated at different protection levels so only 1 will activate making the other just sitting there not doing anything the 1 that activates will be the highest level 1 but........it is not required so if you were buying new batterys you could save some money but if you are using existing batterys they will work........lesson over

I read it somewhere you can, don't know where though....i think the Vamo didn't like it though so to be on the safe side dhansak stick to un-protected for the VTR.

Maybe the manual will tell you if you can or can't

Vamos definitely don't like protected batteries... There are some that will work in them .. Some panasonics do I think

vamos are a law unto themselves and break easily...hence I don't buy them - waste of my precious pennies

Thanks guys will stick with unprotected batts for vtr and go with protected for nemmy (or maybe just get a kick)

Its working. Put it to one side to give it a good test this evening, got to remember not to stand it up as I am terrible for doing that with all my mods.
