After watching youtube, I am going to attempt rewicking a protank head with cotton wool by pulling out the silica and putting in the cotton. Do I have to use organic wool as I have a bubba and tons of the regular stuff?
TIA

you're going to have to use organic cotton wool as normal stuff is bleached, and you don't want to be vaping on bleach.
I think cotton buds might be organic? does anyone know...

I just use ordinary cotton wool. Organic often describes the growing procedure but does not always mean untreated after harvesting.

No, you don't need organic Mrsmac. Any bleach used will have evaporated off long ago. Just make sure it's not perfumed

Just make sure it is described as 100% cotton. As said above organic refers to not using pesticides and artificial fertilisers during the growing. I think you will be licky to find unbleached cotton.

Hi MrsmacI did my first rewick, on a Protank, a couple of days ago and used ordinary cotton wool balls from Waitrose. Did a dual coil on an Aerotank last night. I'm like a dog with dual tails

I'm like a dog with dual tails How did it turn out, does it improve the vape? I got a protank mini2 today and for some reason is has better flavour than the mini 1 but would still like a bit more, have a mini protank 3 on its way too

Mrsmac said "How did it turn out, does it improve the vape? More vapour than the original wick.

Mrsmacon silica I was rewicking every day.... On microcoils I change the wire about every 6 days and change the cotton wool about every 36 hours Only thing I would warn of is like making sure your protank head is screwed in securely else you're going to flood.... really I don't know why I left it so long? Life is a lot easier. No hunting for pins every day. No mass storage of frayed silica. I just use a jewellers pin for my coil and like I like to flame the coil till it's reddish on my lighter (just a normal lighter) then squish it a bit with wet fingers. tis just me....then I bung it in the protank using an old syringe needle I've gunked up... Worst part is getting the hang of the cotton wool...takes time but is not impossible and not like cotton wool costs a fortune
