Hopefully someone can help us
Hubby finally bit the bullet and got one.
Straight out of the box with an efest battery stuck in it and an evod 2 ...
Nothing. Evod is now dead (wasn't when we started, he was using it on his other pipe.) The pipe itself seemed rather warm.
I've tried it with various clearos since, all of which are definitely working and .... nothing.
Is it just a dud pipe? Did we do something wrong ... could this happen again if we get a new one?
Don't want to hassle the vendor if we are just being thick :/
Help

Think it truly is a dud, have tried anything that doesn't make it look like we might have broken the damn thing I'm pretty certain it blew the atty, before it was totally dead. All we did was use it normally though, so don't think we can be blamed for it. It's just a pig having to send stuff back And we don't want to get another one if they are so easy to break!

Yups, devices and attys we have ... a few of The evod 2 was working fine until we put it on the kamry and now it is officially dead, no doubt. Tried loads of different attys on the pipe and none of them work, but at least they are still alive afterwards If we did something daft, I can't think what it is

Just a thought but have you tried something other than the evod on the pipe ?
Evods don't sit too well on some battery connections......A Clearo that is spring loaded may be better
Does the pipe connection have a adjustable 510 connection ? . . It may need moving nearer to the clearo/Evod to make connection

It is an adjustable 510 connection, but with ego clearos then we use an adapter, the adapter works fine, that's easy to test, and I am 100% sure that there was a connection, that was the obvious thing to check. Although I have worked miracles with some of our gear, I don't know a great deal about electricity. I guess I was just worried that we had done something fatal to it, since it seems very likely that it basically shorted out. I have quite a lot of hands on experience with loads of gear, including hand made mods, and every type of clearo they every made

Do you have a meter? You could test to see if there's voltage to the connector when you press the button.
I think it's just a coincidence that the atomiser "blew" when you connected it and reading it's a 510 connection s you should not be able to use a Evod on it?
???

No meter to test voltage We have about 6 510/ego adapters lying about. Will see what the vendor has to say

A simple mod can only deliver voltage to the atty, if it has a fault Then all it can really do is NOT deliver the volts. An atty has no Electronics for the wrong kind of voltage delivery to break. So it won't be the mod that broke the EVOD. On the other hand a shorting atty can do a great deal of damage to a Mod and it's battery.

So it could be the evod 2's fault? It is a bit of an unknown quantity since it is so new, but it was working fine on his other pipe beforehand. I had imagined that somehow there was a power surge, but like I said I don't really understand as much about that as I would like Connections I understand A lot of things have some kind of protection in their circuitry, so I assumed that surges were possible without it. There is very little info on the kamry, it doesn't even come with instructions (just got the head, not the kit as we have everything else.)

Just a thought, but does the Pipe have a 2cent fuse in it's base? normally found under the battery.

Just a thought, but does the Pipe have a 2cent fuse in it's base? normally found under the battery. Can't see anything that looks like a fuse, it's a simple wire coil connection connected to a wire that disappears into the body.
There are 2 very small holes in the "stem" near the 510 connection, which would be vents I assume. Otherwise, all the wiring is completely enclosed.
