I leave them for a minute or so after adding about 8 drops so it can soak in well before I start again. Don't know if it helps or not though!

Hi and welcome I only joined this forum yesterday and have been reading lots of older posts, all very informative I have been vaping for about a month, one thing I have found out is how the taste changes a lot. I like the pic n mix ideas given to you, in them you can order the menthol, tobacco and a few other flavours to try, I dont think you would waste money that way, even if you feel at first you didnt like some flavours, for example, when I started, I wanted a tobacco that was exactly like the fag that I used to smoke, I bought several tobacco flavours, not one was like it, some were nice, some not so, I also bought some fruit and coffee flavours, I hated the fruit, coffee was nice but only after a couple of days though, then a few days ago I tried the blackcurrant, now I just love it, its amazing the games your tastebuds will play with you, also, menthol added to any flavour perks it up, just dont add to much at a time. I have not worried about the few flavours I didnt first like, keeping them, I may find I love them later or mix a few drops of this or that to have a bit of fun. Choose a vendor, give them a ring, say what you like, and ask for a few off the wall flavours as well, it will be a whole new world very soon, I hope you enjoy vaping as much as me, good luck and please let us know how you get on, we all learn as we go and from eachother This is interesting, thank you. When I ordered my starter kit, I deliberately ordered juice that was advertised as tasting like my regular brand of tobacco (Golden Virginia). It wasn't spot on but was close enough. Within days though I found myself wanting to try other flavours and so ordered a 5 pack of 5 ml bottles from a well known supplier. They arrived today. I have tried 3 of them so far. Two, the apple and watermelon have been very disappointing. Whilst I get a hint of the flavour, it is minimal. The spearmint however, I am loving! There are several possible explanations for this, and I have no idea which, if any, is true. 1) This particular well known supplier's flavours aren't great and I would get a better experience with another supplier. (This doesn't explain why the spearmint is so good though and I can't comment on the two I haven't tried) 2) I'm using the Ego-T system and have only got one good atty, so although I have used a brand new tank for each flavour, the fact they have gone though an atty that has had Golden Virginia going through it for several days may have "poisoned the well". Certainly, both Watermelon and Apple as more subtle flavour normally than either tabacco or mint, so it could well be that it is simply risidual juice and it's residue in the atty that is masking the flavour of the subtler ones. 3) Reading your post does make me wonder if this isn't the most likely one: My taste and olfactory senses have been so dulled by nearly 20 years of smoking 40+ roll ups/day that it is unreasonable for me to expect to be able to appreciate anything but the strongest of flavours in the next few weeks. The more I think about it, the more a combination of reasons 2 and 3 seems to be the most likely explanation. I think I may follow you tip and put my apple and watermelon flavours to one side of a few weeks and then try them anew. This spearmint is awesome though and I may have to order more soon. I also very much want to try this RV4 that loads of people seem to love. But whoever I buy my next sampler pack from, I think in the short term, I need to be trying strong, dominant flavours, not subtle ones... Hope this is considered an adjunct to the thread, rather than a derail. I had considered starting a new thread to mention this anyway but it seemed to follow on neatly here...

Well, I have been using RY4 for a few days now, before that I prefered the Golden Verginia out of mt tobacco flavours, the RY4 is lovely and the one. Vape most of the time, but I do like to vape the Blackcurrant from the same supplier in a Clearo, it is so lovely, since I have been reading how good this new RY HI5(not sure I got the name quite right there) is I have ordered a small bottle of that, should be here today or tomorrow, and then I will decide which I will stick to as my main vape and order a large bottle and also a large bottle of Blackcurranr, and just dabble with all the small bottles of juice I have been buying.
My very first order included 5ml bottles of Spearmint, Watermelon, Apple, Golden Verginia and Coffee lol so quite similar to what you bought
The Apple and watermelon initially were dull to me but a few weeks in when I bought the Clearos I found much better, the Clearos for me, help bring out the flavour, the spearmint was a bit strong, the Coffee was nice, went though it pretty quick, the Golden Virginia nice as well.

It could be a bit of all 3 of your reasons really Kingsley . . . I've found that the majority of tank systems dull flavours, plus it absolutely will take your taste buds time to recover. Set them aside for a couple of weeks then go back and see what you think. . . although not all flavours are superlative from the same Supplier and won't hit the spot each and every time for us.
I love Blackcurrant now myself Chillax and also mix it with a little Liquorice or Aniseed for a bit of a twist.

I've tried a lot of tank systems and agree, they do strip the flavour (to the point of non existance in some cases). Direct dripping is good to give you a feel for what you should be tasting out of a particular flavour. Then it's a case of finding the best medium of taste, vapour, throat hit and value for money.

Kingsley, i could have wrote the exact same post a few weeks ago... i ordered up a ton of lovely flavours to try in my new eGo-T after hearing many great reviews describing truely wonderful flavours that would dance on your tongue BUT all i got from my e-cig was the taste of a fog machine as used at my local disco. Disapointed is putting it lightly.... I ordered up some catomisers and this improved things by taking away alot of the dry foggy taste but still the flavours seemed very weak and the only flavour that worked was menthol
then amazingly after a few weeks those flavours started to appear completely outta the blue !!!
so I put this mainly down to my tastebuds... they take a couple of weeks to spring back to life after smoking..... then there is the fact that the juice had chance to steep for a week or two and lastly as others mentioned the tank does strip away quite a bit of flavour too

Thanks for all the replies. You lot have been very helpful yet again! I wish I'd know that about tank systems when I ordered my starter kit (and even when I ordered my a bunch of spare atties)! My minimal research (I had thought it fairly comprehensive - A week of being here and on ECF plus watching VTTV has taught me how wrong I was!) had lead me to belief that direct dripping gave the best flavour and with the tank, every vape was like it had been direct dripped. I guess I was either mislead by what I read/watched on youtube or possibly, just as likely, misinterpreted it. I received a three pack of Mega Dual Coil Cartomisers today and although I have only filled one I have been highly impressed. I filled it with the the 11mg Golden Virginia that I have found is great for chain vaping and have really noticed an increase in the richness of the flavour as well as a better throat hit. I think I'm going to order two or three different tobacco flavours and a couple of other strong flavours from a different supplier and some standard size DCCs. I'll keep the mega sized ones for what ever becomes my stock chain vape flavour in the long run, and use the smaller ones for trying new flavours. I'll put the fruit flavours to one side for a few weeks and then try them again (I didn't dislike either, just found them disappointing). On the return of senses front, I am already noting some improvements. I had the three most flavourful pints of Bathams I can remember in years this evening and the room I am currently sitting in is definitely starting to smell (the only room in the house anyone has smoked in for several years). There are big pros and cons to the time of year I've started to vape, as whilst being able to sit inside the pub all night when it is cold is a big advantage, not being able to keep the window fully open 24 hours a day so the smell dissipates is not so good! I've already told my mother that my xmas list is likely to be made up of 90% vaping supplies and she is chuffed: a) That I am doing something far less harmful than smoking; and b) That I don't smell nearly as bad as I did a week ago! I never really believed that stuff about smokers smelling bad and being around smokers making non-smokers smell bad but for the first time in my life I am beginning to observe some evidence for it.

Kingsley, sometimes Fabreeze can be yoru best friend lol if you cant get a carpet cleaner in and the walls freshly decorated, a good dosing so the fabric gets damp can do the world of wonders Give it a squirt, leave for an hour or so and come back to a new and improved atmosphere

I went through the house like a dose of salts, I must admit . . . even though I smoked by an open back door ( freezing in the winter ) I could just smell cigarettes everywhere. All the curtains came down and were washed/cleaned, carpets shampooed, so far I've redecorated the bathroom, kitchen, hsl & one bedroom this year . . . couple of bedrooms & the Lounge/Dining Room to do, got the paint . . . just run out of steam for now.

Lol both . . . I quite enjoy decorating, it's the getting started that takes me time to wind up to . . . the kitchen was minging I must confess, as I used to burn lots of candles to try and absorb any nasty smells from the cigs.
Some of them smoked like mad as well. . . and didn't stop the smells, I later realised.

My other half smokes indoors so it's a waste of time and money on cleaning stuff if I wash the walls down or anything, so I don't bother. I do wash the curtains and nets regularly though as part of my usual cleaning routine.
