Hi, Just started today with 2 EGos. I am trying a tester of spearmint and hubbys is tobacco flavour. Had a quick look at suppliers but dont know where to start, the toabco flaovour on the first site had 10 different flavours. I am after strong menthol, the spearmint is too weak and sweet. Do i need anything else or just the flavoured liquids?

Well, since you like menthol and you don't like too sweet, e-juice, I would suggest that you narrow your search to menthol/tobacco flavored e-juice. I'm not not quite sure what you meant, by asking if you need anything else, but if you have 2 eGo, a few atomizers and cartridges or cartomizers, a charger and e-juice, you should be all set for a while.

What is the PG and VG base or 50/50, which to go for?

pg or vg is the glyrcerin base, some people struggle with to much pg (rare cases though). Pg gives you more throat hit. Vg more vapour and soem people say it doesnt wick very well for them because its not as runny.
Finding your correct ratio can be a bit hit adn miss but for me startign off on the 50/50 mix was a good way to go and I could then tweak it either way as needed.

If you see a 60/40 PG/VG mix, I recommend that rather than 50/50 - but if you don't buy too much of any one thing to start with, you shouldn't end up with lots wasted. The suppliers that Des has linked are all A1, as are all the suppliers we recommend here. Ecigs seem to have attracted a better class of businessmen than many other sectors! If you don't like anything you try, put it up for swap or sale in our Classifieds Happy hunting! scylla x

A lot of the suppliers are also very accomadating, if you prefer a different strength or mix to whats shown on the website, often if you contact them via email or pm they will tweak to yoru requirements You just gotta ask!

I find an 80/20 mix to be the best for me, that's 80% PG and 20% VG. VG is thicker than PG and like Jemima said, doesn't wick very well. It's all a matter of personal taste.

I agree with jerry I prefer an 80/20 mix. Minimum 70% I find to much VG just doesn't cut it for me. But everyone's different. Hope you find some juices you like Natsx

You can get 5x 5 or 10 ml flavours, so you get to try out lots of different ones until you find out what you like without spending too much money. As regards which brands/vendors are best - I still haven't tried enough to know. I went for a peppermint one from FreedomVape which isn't too sweet, as regards strength, bear in mind your taste buds are messed up from years of smoking. I find some days the taste is fine, other days I can't taste anything at all.

hi fimckenzie wishing you a warm welcome to the forum and the world of vaping when buying menthol you can get just straight up menthol or menthol tobacco.... but what i do is buy a tobacco, you can get one you and your hubby like and also buy a straight up menthol. that way you can mix up the tobacco and menthol to your taste.

Hi and welcome I only joined this forum yesterday and have been reading lots of older posts, all very informative I have been vaping for about a month, one thing I have found out is how the taste changes a lot. I like the pic n mix ideas given to you, in them you can order the menthol, tobacco and a few other flavours to try, I dont think you would waste money that way, even if you feel at first you didnt like some flavours, for example, when I started, I wanted a tobacco that was exactly like the fag that I used to smoke, I bought several tobacco flavours, not one was like it, some were nice, some not so, I also bought some fruit and coffee flavours, I hated the fruit, coffee was nice but only after a couple of days though, then a few days ago I tried the blackcurrant, now I just love it, its amazing the games your tastebuds will play with you, also, menthol added to any flavour perks it up, just dont add to much at a time. I have not worried about the few flavours I didnt first like, keeping them, I may find I love them later or mix a few drops of this or that to have a bit of fun. Choose a vendor, give them a ring, say what you like, and ask for a few off the wall flavours as well, it will be a whole new world very soon, I hope you enjoy vaping as much as me, good luck and please let us know how you get on, we all learn as we go and from eachother

« Reply #12 on Oct 12, 2011, 5:14am » That's the middle of the night chill! Tis to me anyway, though I'm often still up at that time. Question on cartomisers. I don't like the condom method, I drip drops instead! How many drops on average should be used? I don't like wasting juice. Thank you for any answers.

27-30 drops Anne.
Any less (from new) and you have dry spots. Better to overfill slightly and then blow through into a tissue.
