Having consulted my daughter ... she thinks its internet explorer 7 ??? (I think that I am confusing even her!!) That may indeed be the problem as that's a fairly old version of IE as I believe the current version is IE11? Well..... after now consulting with the (guru) son I am on Windows 7 IE11 !!! (Clever clogs!!! isn't he!!)
(Apparently I'm a hopeless case as it only took him 2 clicks!! Bl**dy show off!!)

I didn't do it Raffles youngest daughter did it (with a few choice words to boot! Going to have to have a few words about those! But not until I've used her skills to the max!) but I did break it when I tried to add a comment so had to delete Di... I so know those feelings... the kids we used to spank (in an humane and educational way!) are now telling us how to run our lives!

Son here. To find out what version of internet explorer you're using click setting (little gear top right) then 'about internet explorer' this will show all the information about the program. I figured that she has to drag and drop the personal smilies into the text, is this working now? is it showing up correctly, she has exactly the same set up as shown by Raffles in his screenshot. This is a screen shot of her settings (again) When in the smilies the personal ones don't bring up a blue highlighted background, so it makes me think that they aren't buttons but instead just pictures. I don't know what the problem is has an easy work around so it isn't really a problem now that she knows the crack.

Sorry for delay in replying. Di's son, there should be no reason for Di to have to drag & drop the smilies into a post, as long as she is using full reply, she should be able to just click on them.

I can confirm however, that which ever reply I use the personal smilies will not post - as he said when you hover over them (to click/post) they do not come up with a blue highlighted background ??? He's baffled and can't think of a reason why, especially as my codes look to be exactly the same as those shown by others. Ah well! I'll get by
Thanks for all the help everyone!!

Di my personal smilies also don't have a blue background when I hover over them, but they still work - for instance - I really wish I could work out why yours aren't working

May try some smilies from another site and see what happens... any recommendations?

Di to make you feel better.... my personal smilies don't always work, no matter whether I'm using 'Reply' or Quick Reply. When they're not playing ball & I really want to use one, then I right click to get the property box up, then copy that, after, I paste it in the 'Insert Image' box & it then works. A fanny, but at least you can then use them when they're playing up.
