VANILLIN CRYSTAL MIX - problems

Got some Vanillin crystals ( actually came in a powder form) filled a 10ml bottle half way and added PG to the top.  Result is a murky looking mix, and cannot  get the powder to dissolve completely.  An amount of it is kind of solid at the bottom.  Taste is not so good either.  I did warm the bottle in hot water for a while to help with dissolving it, but I am not that happy with the result.  Any tips? I don't get the creamy taste which I had hoped for, maybe I need more of it before I put in the PG?

Ditto here emmita as you kindly sent me half of your order as we'd both asked Perp about the stuff, I could also do with some pointers to how to use it (and mix it)

Same applies to my ethyl maltol crystals. I assume its something similar to how you use menthol crystals...but its best to ask before I just dive on in (and/or google as usual)

I think you've put too much crystal in. About 1ml of crystal in a 10ml bottle (ie 10%) should do it.

It could well do. I'm also going to be outlived by a bag of cotton wool and several spools of wire, not to mention too many pre-bought heads

I did the same with my vanillian, i just decanted into a 20ml bottle and added about 3ml more of PG until it fully dissolved after heating it
Oh and i use it at 1% in a mix

Okaaay......so too much vanillin has caused it not to dissolve completely? But what taste do you get with such a small amount in the PG? Is it creamy or a bit like old socks as mine is?

So it will make it a little more creamy and a bit more vanilla'ee lol

Definitely an overload of Vanillin powder emmita . . . there's just not enough space in the bottle with that much in it, to dissolve. You might find it easier to make up the solution in an egg cup/measuring cup - if you use a mouthwash, then the caps of those can be quite useful.

Then it's easy enough to draw up the dissolved liquid in a syringe and pop into a bottle.

Sorry to be thick, but what doe 1 ml of crystal look like.......do you mean 1 gram?

think its just a case of holding a 10ml bottle, shoving a 1/10th of vanilin crystals in, and filling the other 9/10th of bottle with PG
