With much leading astray encouragement from Super-Shiny I decided to bite the bullet & make a DNA30 Mod. What a nightmare tiny wires, tiny board & solder etc I used the Super-Shiny shopping list icon_shoppingm I gathered all the bits & after much PM'ing , cursing & headaches I finally finished my Clone of the Super-Shiny Mod Here it is with a MVP & a Vamo for size comparison. I am glad I did it & wouldn't have done it without Super-Shinys help & guidance, but I think I will retire from modding as not sure my nerves can take it I would like to thank Super-Shiny for his help

I have that very fire button here waiting for me to be assed to actually fit it, How does it feel to use? In order for me to fit it I have to move the hole in the side of the mod down by about 3mm to allow room for the lock nut which will be a major pita. Is it worth the hassle? is it comfortable to use when it protrudes that far?

Button feels great, best feeling fire button than on anything I have, you could fit it by just enlarging hole & securing with epoxy resin (leave locking nut off ) it will hold secure Well done fiddles a work of art .. but 8.5 watts wtf! Ithaka clone is empty just put on for picture taking will slowly up the watts

I have plenty of JB weld here but I want the ability to be able to change out the switch without drilling should I fancy a change, I'll do it properly if its worth doing Good to know that it's worth the effort though, I may just get my tools out

Nice work fiddles if you dont mind me asking, what was the cost of making it? I have been reading loads of diy mod threads lately and i feel the urge to make one lol. But i have an old Vamo board here and i may just use that as a guinea pig first.

I haven't totaled it up but would say about £100 would not be far off the mark, half of that being the DNA chip icon_shoppingm

blakey if it was me and i wanted to fit a bigger button i would drill a new hole just below the one already there but measure the new hole so that once the hole has been done it will also hit and take away the hole that is already there. Also you would only need basic epoxy, something like 5min epoxy as there is nothing forcing it to move so that way you could easy remove the button at a later date if needed as the epoxy won't in no way be a pita to remove then JB weld would. Bolt is deffo not needed.

When I get round to it I'm going to use a file to draw the hole down by the required 3mm then widen it slightly to avoid the drill slipping into the original hole, then I'll simply drill it. The only advantage I can see from setting the button without the lock ring would be the ability to set the button a bit higher. I've run out of 2.5mm female spade connectors to connect to the switch which I'd prefer to use to make changing out the switch a 2 min job should I desire to. Otherwise I would've done it today
